The Oaks and Derby
Jun 2019 • Couples
There are many events worldwide that have adopted the name, so as to give the event in whatever country it is staged the prestige that accompanies the name.

However, there is only one place on Earth where the prestige is truly a deserved description of a racecourse that presents the ultimate test to all three year old thoroughbred racehorses. The winner of the race will have their name and that of the owner of the horse, the trainer and the jockey will have their names written in the annals of history as worthy of the prestige that comes with the title after victory in The Derby. The Derby, there is only one, it is run at Epsom Racecourse and as anybody stepping into the famous arena can see almost immediately why the winners of the race live on in the centuries of racing history books.
The facilities are as generally expected but honestly, who cares about such trivialities when you’re about to watch the horses go past, travelling the full uniquely testing course and distance of the one and only Derby before leaving the starting stalls and galloping down to Tattenham Corner, coming out of the turn and the course drops downhill to the stands side and the horse power back past you heading for the famous winning post in front The Queens Stand, packed to the rafters, cheered on by each and every soul on course. The atmosphere is special and unique to the course and The Derby itself.
All anybody needs to know if there is an opportunity to attend Epsom Racecourse on Derby day is don’t miss that opportunity, not every one can or does enjoy that experience even once in a lifetime but if at all they ever could, they really really should. Just go!

Wonderful part of the country
Feb 2020
I went for a walk on the downs , over the race course this morning. It was a cold , dry, clear and frosty morning, so one could see for miles. I parked the car at the top car park and then took my dogs for a nice ling walk. We saw 15 racehorses training and some of them galloped or cantered past us. It was a wonderful sight.

The only downside is that one cannot let the dogs off the lead while the horses are training. One would have to go in the afternoon to do that. The gates to the car park close at 5pm now, so on e could not be there in the evening.

Epsom Downs
Jan 2020 • Solo
One of my favourite place.
You can go alone, with others or take your furry friends. It’s a nice open area, with a little cafe if you want hot drinks, cakes ect. There is also a beautiful viewpoint where you can see London.
Added bonus there’s local pubs, if you want to stop off for some lunch or just a drink all in walking distance of the racecourse.

One of my favourite places to sit and spent some time is just off Royal Drive. They have benches there, where you can look over the whole area. While enjoying a cuppa.

Great place to fly drone
Sep 2019 • Solo
Epsom Downs Racecourse and a drone, great place to get good pics and video of a famous place. By following the fence you can follow most of the track with good film of the stand, etc. Well worth the time

OK, but the drinks are pricey!
Oct 2019
Went to the QEII stand for a wedding reception. The venue was OK, but the drinks were very expensive and the disco very loud.

Epsom Downs Racecourse
Jun 2019
Although I am not an avid gambler I do go to the racecourse for the derby(To flutter a maximum of £30) and a couple of other race days particularly evening events. I also go for walks on the downs to admire the stunning views,The grandstand hosts many other events including regular auctions(I bought a brand new Panasonic tv costing £550 for £380!!! with full guarantee)

Walk on the downs
Sep 2019 • Friends
Parked at The Lunchbox and then walked over to the Downs area. Lovely area to walk with friends but children would easily like the freedom and be able to run around.

We went over the back and watched the amateur pilots flying there small planes.

Nice place to go to
Jan 2019
It's nice to watch horse races and bet on the horse that you think is going to win, this is my favourite part, as you might get lucky and win something!
