Fabulous first walk 🌿
Jun 2021 • Couples
Easy to find, free national trust walk. Car park is big and spacious. Picnic areas are easy to find. Lovely walks, well sign posted and of varying abilities.

Super nice place for a walk with children and dogs. Highly recommend it to everyone. Free car parking comes as an extra bonus.

Family walks

I love this place! I came here as a child living nearby, and even though now I am a little further away (but a lot older!) I still love coming and what’s more so do my kids! The walks are easy to follow and multiple paths mean you can have a walk that is as easy or difficult as you like! I particularly like the walks upon the 2 outer ridges and splashing in the stream is fun too! Great place to spend a morning, afternoon or evening and no draw of cafes meaning my money stays in my purse! Just fab!
The practical bit .... Easy parking too. Enjoy xx

not safe
May 2020 • Couples
used to take my dog quite regular but we dont bother anymore has last few visits there has been a loose bull roaming around
last time we went it was right next to the footpath and we had to walk just feet away from.him to get past and it went to run at us, i no of others being chased as well. this area is supposed to be a public area of the countryside for families and the like to enjoy the national trust need to get this problem sorted. and who ever owns the cattle need to learn to keep them under control surely they would be liable of any attack ??

Heaven for dogs, can get overcrowded
Mar 2020
I take my dog here regularly. There's a fairly large, main car park, another smaller one near to the ford and planety of areas by the side of the road where you can park up.
That said, on a nice, sunny weekend you could find it difficult to find a spot and the whole site is not enormous.

With a web of different paths, there's somewhere to walk in all weather and for people of all abilities. There's covered woodland, riverside walks, climbs to viewing points, paddling spots (for you or the dogs) and the odd bench to stop and take a breather.

A lovely walk despite it being a bit muddy. We'll definitely be visiting again. I can't believe it was the first time we've been.

Peaceful escape

Lovely place to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Many different routes to explore with different elevations for views, forests and rivers. The longest route I found was about 2.5 miles. Plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by. It can be quite muddy so wellies would be a good choice.

Dog walking heaven

We came here for somewhere to break up a journey south.
It’s a fabulous safe environment for dogs to run around. There are plenty of paths which all link up so you can’t get lost even if you don’t know the area
