    5 star burgers
The Eat Out to Help Out scheme is what drew me to eat in this pub but the service and incredible food is what will encourage me to return again soon. The burgers here are 5 stars, without a doubt, and the simple but super tempting menu made selecting what we want very easy, as well as giving us plenty of reasons to come again so we can try the next combination on our wish list. The brioche option for the bun was a very welcome treat and, having ordered The Hot One, I can completely recommend it as first choice if you like your food to pack a punch. I look forward to coming again soon and already have my next order in mind.

    Lunchtime bite
Visited here with my old man one afternoon, been meaning to try here for a while to taste some locally brewed ale! On arrival it’s a very characteristic old little boozer, full of charm. We was greeted by an incredibly friendly bar lady. She helped us decide what to drink and was very helpful in providing samples for each of there own brewed ale. Lots to choose from it all tasted great, I have one regret and that was I was driving and limited to one. I could happily spend an afternoon here drinking much more than that. There in house brewed bitter/ale tasted incredible. Through the back of the pub is a nice little beer garden. It’s in a great building and it’s lovely to sit around back where it’s nice and quite also. We had two sandwiches for a bite to eat and some chips which tasted fantastic also. Presentation was great and I appreciate they did not usually offer chips on the lunch menu however made an exception which goes a long way. This pub is great, the ales and staff are fantastic and incredibly welcoming. The pub has great charm and food. Look forward to returning.

    Lunchtime treat
I work next door to The Vine. I'd read about their chips and really fancied some. Ordered and collected them from a very happy, cheerful chef. And, oh my word!!!! Proper chips, absolutely delish. They are going to be offering take out during lockdown. I will definitely be ordering.

Great local pub serving delicious homemade burgers. The chips are AMAZING!

Wash it down with a pint of Vine Inn beer (brewed onsite) and you’re in for a tasty and excellent value treat!

No photo because it’s all gone!

Lovely pub food, all home cooked and locally sourced. I had a burger and chips which came with salad and coleslaw. The whole meal was so tasty and the chips were unbelievable. Great service and a friendly atmosphere.

The kitchen at the Vine Inn has recently opened up and I just had a really excellent Ploughman's lunch washed down with a decent pint. The menu looks ideal for daytime eating and the pub is dog friendly.

Found this pub on the internet. No food, but what a friendly welcome and experience. When we said we travelled 40 miles to try their beers, we got a personal guided tour of their little brewery on the premises. Oliver's beers are excellent, the Grapefruit IPA was just what I love in a bitter. Normally, I wouldn't drink Mild Ale, but at my friends recommendation I had half of their Ruby Mild and was glad I did. Their EPA, my friend loved, but it wasn't to my taste. We hope to get them to appear at our Beer Festival in September.

Trying hard with the vine.... Great range of ales especially the porter, loads of gins and friendly staff. The pub has been described by others on here so it's an old Inn as are the seats etc which is fine. What really let's it down is the language of some of the regulars which the staff don't attempt to stop. Last time we went the one customer was using F and C nearly every word... No need for it. No problems with a bit of swearing but C*** every second word not good. This has happened the last few times we've been in so we won't bother anymore. Shame as we liked the drinks and open fire!

We'd checked out the menu before we booked a table for 4 one evening but when we came to order, none of our choices were available! I could have accepted that perhaps one or two items on the menu were no longer available but all 4 choices at 7pm? That was just bad planning. We should have walked out at that point but we stayed and chose things that we didn't really fancy. Two of us couldn't eat our pies because the pastry was so thick and tough we couldn't cut it and the vegetables were overcooked. The service was almost non-existent - the waitress cleared 3 of our plates and I had to eat my dessert with my dirty plate still in front of me. When the wine we ordered was delivered it was just plonked on the table for us to serve ourselves. Overall, it was a disgusting meal served by people who clearly weren't enjoying their jobs. It was an insult to pay good money for such a bad evening.

Hi Jackie, Really sorry, but I believe you have reviewed the wrong Vine. We don’t do meals or anything here, we just sell beer and crisps! Thanks, Chris
