I guess Covid 19 has made museums like this very difficult to manage. I think there were just 7 Self Guide visitors (3 of them kids) and a group of around 6 overseas travellers complete with Guide in the whole complex. Due to the lack of numbers it lacked atmosphere and I felt we were rushing around. You forget in popular venues you get held up and are "forced" to read and look at everything, with so few visitors and freedom of movement suddenly you are like Lewis Hamilton. I did no homework on the trip and was really interested to learn about how the popularity of manufactured Lager evolved over Ale but there was nothing really to learn in this area. I felt a little disappointed as its was souless. Perhaps in normal times there are guides scattered about to answer questions, but I guess now they are not required, Shame. Brewery Tap was great - used my vouchers, my daughters and wife's on taking 3 bottles of Heritage Ale back to the hotel whilst downing 2 pints of Slaters American IPA which was awesome despite not being a Burton Beer.....

I came a couple of weeks for Sunday lunch with my son, his girlfriend and also my brother. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the food was, I mean for the price, the portion sizes were amazing, the only thing I couldn’t manage was the Yorkshire pudding, I mean wow they are massive. We also had dessert and that was perfect as well. In all honestly myself and my family felt extremely safe visiting within the COVID Pandemic on going, there was plenty of signage up around the building. We all couldn’t fault the service, it was amazing and well worth the visit. You can’t beat a beautiful Sunday roast with all the trimmings 😁

This was an enjoyable and informative visit - all the family enjoyed it. Good balance of social and industrial history. The horses were there too.

Husband and I booked this tour via Groupon, booking process was easy. Pleasantly surprised to find we were the only ones on the tour. Our guide Terry was very informative in a fun way, learnt a great deal about the brewing process and the history of brewing in Burton Upon Trent. Enjoyed the beers at the end too! Very Covid safe visit.

We booked a visit for a tour not expecting to spend much time here but were pleasantly surprised with our visit. We had a guided tour with a lovely guide, ate a lovely lunch and sampled some lovely beers. Well worth a visit.
