Visiting the harbour on a Wednesday there is a small market during the summer. Dates/times can be found on Watchet council website. Lovely stalls to browse around. Watchet is a charming town adorned with beautiful flower displays, lovely and clean and tidy town.

A fun statue on the promenade of a seated seaman looking out at the harbour. Makes the walk round village interesting and informative

Visited this great little harbour in November whilst on a weekend break. Had a great night out and then went back the following afternoon for a wander around. Loads to see including this little statue of a famous fisherman, Yankee Jack.

Many people are surprised to notice that this is a statue! Having a happy, friendly-faced, seated mariner kind of represents the ambience of the town.

Yankee Jack is accompanied by his full story and it's pretty clear that he was something of a local character - and certainly more cheery than the Ancient Mariner nearby.

Far more uplifting than the nearby Ancient Mariner, the statue and nearby explanatory panel of Yankee Jack’s life adds lots of local history and colour to a stroll along the Watchet harbour side.

Interesting local history explained through sculpture, with a descriptive plaque on nearby wall. This adds to the character of such a quaint little fishing hamlet
