This has become a favourite spot for meeting business colleagues. It is quiet and easily accessible. The food is limited but of high quality. Their hot chocolate is really good according to my daughter.

I often come here for a long walk or a bike ride along the canal path, I treat myself to a coffee and a piece of cake and in the summer I have an ice cream,, I would love to be able to see the canal as I enjoy my drink.

We had coffee and cake all was very nice but the cups were a little on the small side. The view to the canal is obscured by the tall hedge. A nice stop at the end of a walk.

My wife and I plus Lilah the Pug walk this stretch of the Taunton-Bridgwater Canal and it is always enjoyable whatever tome of year. Easy parking, great scenery, lots going on and a very nice tea room to finish off the day. Highly recommended.

We have visited this cafe now on several occasions. The staff have always been polite, efficient and the snacks and teas provided always welcome after a walk. The location is perfect and if your'e lucky you will see the adjoining lock in operation.. The only downside in this modern age - take cash, cards not accepted.

Visited last week while cycling the canal. Nice outside area and friendly staff. Very handy if cycling/walking the towpath. Recommend the Flapjacks.

Lovely place to stop if you are cycling along the canal. You can see the local barges and even have a trip if you would like. You need cash to use the tea room which is a very slight downside. Lovely outside eating area and sheltered area. Beautiful place to relax. Great place to stop with children and check out... More

I went along to this beautiful spot one sunny after afternoon this week...and therein lay my mistake ! When we arrived we went into the little cafe that sits right on the side of the canal and enquired about the Boat trips only to be told that they were only running at weekends !! We were extremely disappointed as we... More

Maunsel Lock isn't something absolutely outstanding, but it's beautiful nonetheless. Actually, the whole area really deserves a day's walk by the canal, with the opportunity to visit many country pubs for a refreshment break. Note; there are some excellent local brews to sample. I strongly recommend a look round the quaint village of North Newton, with its commodious, tightly packed... More

The attraction itself is well worth a visit if you are a canal enthusiast or simply like a nice towpath walk. Car parking is good, the walks into the Somerset countryside [and, incidentally, along the 'space walk'] are superb and there is a decent small cafe. The attraction calls itself a canal centre which is a slight exaggeration as apart... More
