Had a family meal takeaway today and it was amazing. Ordering was easy, just sent an email with order, date and pickup time. Picking up was completely in line with COVID guidelines. The food itself was fabulous, we all had different meals but they were all very tasty, even the teens were impressed. Will definitely be going back!!

What a lovely quirky old pub in a very pretty village. Lamb roast was excellent, beautifully cooked and plenty of it. Also very good value and the staff are extremely attentive and helpful. We decided to sit outside as it was such a sunny day for October and the garden is beautiful and so well kept, a really lovely, idyllic spot. Unfortunately we live 70 miles away, but were visiting family, otherwise we'd come here regularly.

Very good food, on a cold day after a bracing walk. 4 different meals, all high quality. Nice atmosphere of a traditional pub: red checked tablecloth, service from a proper landlady etc. Good vegetarian options for the one of us too.

Had a lovely meal with a friend the other evening. The best chips I've ever had. Good, prompt service. Claim to be Eat out to help Out online but apparently not in reality so had to pay full price. That needs sorting.

Had a long lunch here with family, first time visiting in many years, and it's still as lovely as ever. Very charming old pub with lots of character (including the obligatory low beams and twisty steps), super-friendly management/staff, delightful garden out back. It was a quiet Monday but we were welcomed in and fed excellently - everyone was very happy with their meals, my gammon, egg & chips was outstanding and the fish&chips looked very good too. Would be very happy to have a local as good as this.

Having been to the Eyston Arms a week earlier I was jubious of another trip to Hendred. The Wheatsheaf however was an excellent pub. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I thought it was excellent value for money and will definitely be returning.

Our first time here for Sunday lunch, but it won’t be our last. Really good food, very friendly service and a good selection of drinks, including free chilled water on the bar. Very quick service, large portions too.

One of those Friday evenings where you can't be bothered to cook, and didn't book... went in search of somewhere new..

First pub we tried in the village was packed, so we didn't even stop, assuming it would be booked up.

The Wheatsheaf was very quiet! Empty car park and only a dozen people drinking in the bar, which has us worried... too quiet! However, our fears were unfounded!

Great fish and chips, big portion, reasonably priced (but at the more expensive end of pub grub). Quick service, although we were the only ones eating, and super helpful!

They even had a nice little dog that came to visit to see if we would share (so dogs allowed too)

Will defo visit again, garden looked amazing too!

A great Sunday lunch on 7th May. Everything was cooked perfectly. Roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding and loads of vegetables. Charming staff in classic old country pub. We'll return to enjoy the garden when it's a bit warmer.
