Have been going here annually for Wantage Silver Band's Annual Concert since 1997. Great sizeable place and plenty of rooms to go to warm up in for each of WSB's 7 bands. The main hall is huge and perfect for concerts. The control room upstairs is slightly small but I've managed to set up my equipment for video and audio recording without disturbing the techie too much. The volunteer staff there are very amenable and there's even a little coffee shop. The bar is fairly well stocked and priced. Parking is free from 6pm at the weekend so great for parking for concerts.

I booked the Ridgeway Suite for my celebration party, for 150 guests.
Right from the start, everyone was very helpful and efficient.
The space was great, the furniture and bar area were set out to suit my needs and they coordinated well with my caterer who was also very happy with the setup.
The hire of equipment and technical help with rolling photos, videos, music and putting together presentations was all dealt with so I had confidence in it all being a great success, my guests were very impressed.
I would definitely recommend The Beacon as a great facility, it is the second large private party we have had here. The rates and bar prices are very favourable and I would choose it again. Many thanks to all the staff for all their hard work.

A group of us booked to watch Mamma Mia 2 they were screening cinema style.

The bar was open to pre drink and take pre orders for the interval which is a great idea, pity not a lot of choice to drink though and soft drinks £2 for bottle diet coke quite expensive but probably relevant to pub prices i expect ( don't go there very often)

Staff very polite and helpful and although parking right outside this is the main car park for Wantage and was full very quickly so lots of cars waiting for spaces that didn't appear.

Overall a good ladies night out enjoyed by all, reasonable price at £5 per ticket.

A good all round place, clean, open to the public and great location, car park often rammed but if you wait you get a space eventually.

Might be rather naive of me but when I visit a cafe I don’t expect it to be used as a changing room for pre-school ballet class. I found the whole experience very off putting especially the parents total disregard for other customers wellbeing.

I ordered a coffee that was good but the pre-packed roll/ciabatta wasn’t. Also, random people walked into the serving area and appeared to help themselves to sandwiches etc. One person even retrieved her packed lunch from the fridge. All very homely but not sure environmental health would have the same idea.

On leaving I had to ask the ladies sat by the main exit to move their proms as they had completely blocked the door.

It was very good value but not sure I would visit the cafe again.
