Went to Betjeman park looking for painted rocks. The children loved their time there, climbing on logs, running around the big stones, finding a beautiful rock, hiding in the trees, following all the little paths. If your in Wantage go and have a look its very interesting.

Its a joy to wander round this park with or without the children. Springtime with the snow drops and daffs is delightful. There is a streem nearby with ducks and a 'Poo Sticks' Bridge

A nice area for a short walk around the lower part of Wantage. Nice having the river running through the park. Easy walking, not to muddy and footpaths well maintained.

i walk through here most days as it is a pretty way for me to get to work , lately it just looks scruffy , un cared for and in need of a tidy up, also someone to move along the drinkers who sit there most of the day with 2 liters of cider which i find very off putting the river outside is also getting swallowed up by stingy nettles and weeds so hopefully someone will read my review and bring it back up to the beautiful walk it once was

Very nice walk around on a nice day but can be very dark at night. Normally walk through this on the way home from town and lovely to walk through the woodland and hear the animals and birdsong.

We love this park, small and tranquil and just a few minutes walk from the town.

A fitting tribute.

I walk in this park probably 5 times per week and I have NEVER seen anyone using or selling drugs! The worst you might see are a few exuberant youths on a bench, and they don't always throw away litter properly (despite being next to a bin), however the public and volunteers who maintain the park, litter pick every day!

This was our first visit to Wantage, so we thought we'd walk along the brook, which was nice enough until we got to this park. The whole place stank of gange. And in fact, it's quite a 'hidden' sort of park, off the beaten track somewhat, quite small with large trees and large bushes and as such this makes it, well, a perfect can't-be-seen-from-civilisation refuge for dopeheads and muggers. At least the other gang we saw of 10-year olds that passed on their bikes, mobile phones in hand and hurling verbal abuse at us weren't snoking. The dope-fest was in full swing here in broad daylight, so for God's sake don't wander anywhere near this park at dusk. As an aside, we headed back to Wantage centre and passed the museum, and again the road was thick with cannabis fumes - and this time - from two middle-aged codgers openly smoking it and chatting on the pavement. I don't want to come back to Wantage.

We came across this park whilst walking from East Challow into Wantage. It makes for a pleasant little walk along the river and past some pretty daffodils. It’ll be interesting later in the year to see what other flowers they have in bloom.

Just a lovely oasis of nature, right in the town. Lovely to walk, or run, through. There's even a path to a 'bubbling brook'!

I followed a tourist office leaflet for a walk. I liked the park but being on my own I couldn't enjoy it due to the drinkers arguing inside. It's a bit wild and needs to be maintained so its a nice place to go. Its a perfect setting.
