Reasonable food and service. Could be better.

Reasonably nice meal at a reasonable price. The menu wasn't very extensive but what we had was well cooked and presented. Ale was well kept. Service was attentive and polite.
The place was a bit grubby and we were tucked in to a back room with poor lighting. It could be so much nicer.

Inedible food, poor drinks, grubby but great location
Sep 2021 • Family
We popped by for a quick bite to eat and Friday night drink because I remembered the location was great. Unfortunately the food was utterly terrible, the management obviously just buy their ingredients, inc condiments from the local cash and carry. I’ve had much better burgers from kebab shops, £15 for a pair of birds eye burgers with orange floppy processed cheese and a cash and carry roll is a disgrace. My pregnant wife ordered a chicken burger that was so undercooked that she gave it to the dog rather than eating it, poor lad had the trots the next morning. No beer in sight, just larger in plastic cups. Such a beautiful location wasted by terrible shortsighted management! I’d give my right arm to own this potentially amazing place

Grot hole!

Great location but the people who run it are terrible. The outside bar area is filthy with insects and clearly not being cleaned on a regular basis. I saw a rat run under the decking area, just next to this is where the food is being prepared.
The manager is extremely rude, the other staff are over worked and look very un happy.

Good lunch stop for whole family

Have to admit we went with fairly low expectations having read some of the reviews posted here, but we were pleasantly surprised! The Swan delivers a range of good pub food in a great setting. We were a party of 10, including young children, gluten free and vegetarian and the Swan catered for us all - large table, highchairs, gluten free bread rolls, vegetarian options and lots to see on the river. Very helpful and cheerful staff and efficient system for ordering food and drink. Service was prompt! Thank you - we enjoyed our visit!

Lovely spot by the river
Aug 2021 • Friends
Stopped for a beer the other afternoon

One of best spots locally to have a drink by the river

Really impressed with the service and the new decor in the pub

The outside beer garden is looking good and when they complete the new permanent outside eating area should be great

Look forward to dropping in again rinse all the investment compete

I would rate it 0 if I could!
Please avoid for your own health!
£7.50 for a chicken burger, brown and inedible slapped in dry bun (was brown inside not a breast burger) no salad, rude staff and very unhygienic.
Veggie burger same as above but instead of being brown was tiny no salad shoved in big dry bap £8.00 Served on paper plates and £4 extra for dry old chips. Better food from McDonalds and 1/4 the price!
Waiter didn’t question why the so called chicken burger was untouched, requested a refund and nobody available to action this!
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID COVID IS NO EXCUSE FOR SUCH POOR QUALITY INEDIBLE OVERPRICED GARBAGE FOOD.

A lovely Evening

Short and sweet - I simply cannot fault this wonderful pub, it commands a spectacular position next to the river and offers faultless service, top notch in fact. The food is, as expected, superb (pub grub), the 'Swan Burger' is amazing, make sure you are hungry before trying!

There is plenty of parking available.

Enjoy!

Very disappointed run by teenagers

The swan looked lovely as we drove past on the river so we decided to call in for something to eat.
We ordered a pizza which was £12 for one in a box, a jumbo hot dog and burger and chips the burger bun was stale . Staff were not very friendly, nobody checked to see if food was ok. In fact nobody spoke to us at all. Plastic containers for drinks and takeaway container for tea . We had to fetch condiments ourselves. Pretty badly run.
This should reflect in the price but it doesn’t.
A takeaway experience with restaurant prices.
Will not return again

Disappointed
May 2021
Stunning Location Pub and Restaurant situated right on the Thames at Radcot Bridge! Beautiful big garden area. Our party of four were there yesterday evening, it’s our local and we meet there from time to time. It was busy, the weather was warm for the first time in ages! You’d think they’d get some extra staff in for warm weather days knowing it was going to be busy! As a result we waited for ages before getting our mediocre burgers served on paper plates together with pathetic wooden cutlery and the drinks are served in plastic cups! Well aware of COVID-19 and all the restrictions and the fact that everything is done outside, you can deal with these temporary minor irritations. However, the toilet seat in the ladies loo has been broken and hanging off the toilet since long before Lockdown! Come on guys! You’ve had the whole of lockdown to do some repairs.

Staggeringly unwelcoming
May 2021 • Family
I never leave reviews but this pub has the most unwelcoming owner I’ve ever come across. Quite astonishing. We were kayaking with our family. Despite the website saying they were open at 10 they wouldn’t in fact serve before 11. And if you wanted “proper” coffee (cappuccino, Americana, filter or latte) you had to sit inside - she said only instant coffee was available outside!!!! We’re living through Covid-19. ALL the advice is to stay outside where possible and yet she was encouraging people inside. Clearly bringing a decent coffee outside was beyond her! Furthermore she asked our children to remain seated at all times, despite being outside and by a river and no other customers present. Wholly unsuitable for families and those wanting decent polite service. Avoid.
