74 members visited on a specially arranged evening and made extremely welcome by Charles, Jeffrey and staff. Lovely tea/coffee/cake. Wonderful gardens with such lovely quiet areas. Fabulous roses. As leader have had many comments as to how much it was enjoyed, and some members will be back with friends.

Delightful gardens
Jun 2019 • Friends
Tucked away on the outskirts of Clanfield Village you will find Friar's Court. The beautiful old house is 12th century with later additions and the gardens are a joy. The house is not open to the public but its enthusiastic owner told us about its history and took us on a guided tour of the imaginatively designed gardens We were impressed by the wildlife conservation and biodiversity planning in the grounds. Although the weather was poor our pleasure in the 45minutes tour was not dampened, the variety of roses was a delight to see. There is plenty of seating in the gardens where one can pause and enjoy the lovely surroundings. The paths are level and there are no steps. Afterwards, we were served with a delicious cream tea with homemade scones and jam and lemon drizzle cake, so light that it nearly floated! There was still time to stroll the gardens at our leisure before returning on our coach.

We visited here on a lovely Aug. afternoon. The garden reminded us of our own plot, not
too tidy or formal clearly a much loved home. The best scones we have eaten in a very long while.

Relaxing Gardens
Jul 2017 • Couples
These gardens are partially enclosed with a moat that adds to their charm. Flower borders, woodland walk, vegetable patch & specimen trees are all found. Plenty of seats to relax in. Parking is on a large flat area of grass. I would say most of the garden is wheelchair accessible, although I don't think the woodland walk is but check with owners beforehand. There is a small shop with interesting items, a very good tea room & excellent toilet facilities. I'd go again. Oh, I almost forget, a small museum as well!
