we stoped for lunch in the Nags Head, before exploring Abingdon. we came across Long ally, by St Helens chuch. wonderful building, and well worth looking for. We counted seven grey Squirrels in the grounds. Read the info board(see photos)

One of the best ways to make yourself happy in the present is to remember happiness from the past. Photos are a great reminder, and because we try to capture photographs of happiness cases, they weigh heavily our memories of the good. These views speak for the perky beauty along the shores of the Themes river in Abingdon. The real pleasure!

Abingdon is a very old and historic town retaining much character in the centre. The now demolished Abbey,The Famous Public School-Abingdon School-also colloquially known as 'Royces'after Founder Sir John Royce reputaed to be the oldest extant public school in England going back originally to the 12th Century-older than Eton,the next oldest. The Albert Park and The Medieval River Quarter.

So returned to the village again purely as i have family living there and it is not great. Everyone is so reluctant to even speak unles you have a range rover or merc. The locals look at you down there noses and the whole village is behind with the times. Again some rude locals in a village pub who didnt have the time of day for anyone . Awful

A great walk from the town. A circular walk. Warch the boats going through the locks. See the beautiful weir wirh cafes along the way and searing to rest awhile.
