COLD FOOD
Jan 2019
We have visited the Liquorice Gardens in worksop lots of times with our family it has been a meeting place for us for years but for the last 2 times we have eaten there our food has been cold and had to be sent back. The Manager said all the food is tested at a certain temperature before been served, but it was not hot enough to eat when we recieved it. Also we went for Christmas dinner with our family and friends 14 of us in all we paid at the bar as usual but when it arrived there was no pigs in blankets, gravy and cranberry sauce. A friend of ours told us that he had ordered the same and didnt get them but they still took our money knowing they was out of all 3 items. We have been today New years day my chicken and jacket potato was cold so I asked for it to be warmed, when it came back it was just the same so I took it to the Manager she asked if I wanted a fresh meal to which I said yes. It came back ok. But she was in denial she thought it was ok to send the food out luke warm.I ate alone as my family had already finished there meal. My husbands BBQ Ribs was cold also the sauce, my son was afraid to eat his chicken as it was slimy in side. My granddaughter wanted to take hers home to be warmed properly. It is our favourite meeting place and we spend a lot of money in there and we have always enjoyed it in the past, The servers are very jolly and friendly. We would like for it to get better as we like to visit 1-2 times a week. We do not want to keep being refunded we want our food to be as it used to be.

Rudest staff on planet
Feb 2019 • Couples
If you want good food in a warm welcoming atmosphere, go somewhere else. The staff are beyond rude and the management must sort it out. Vile place avoid at all costs.

Such a shame!!

Visit with friends regularly.
Food good, good selection of drinks, let down by rude staff who want to spend more time on mobile phones texting than serving us when it's busy.

Good food and a nice ale selection at excellent prices - great value Wetherspoons
Oct 2018 • Solo
I visited the Liquorice Gardens whilst staying overnight in Workshop for work. I have visited over 170 Wetherspoons pubs around the country and this was as good as any others in the chain in terms of great value food and a nice selection of ales on tap.

There were plenty of tables available and the food was served hot and brought to the table in around 15 minutes after ordering, which was pretty reasonable. I ordered a steak and scampi combo, it came with 8 pieces of scampi and a tasty steak. Some items were not piping hot but overall it was a good quality meal. I enjoyed one of the Halloween ales, C Monster, which was excellent (6.5% alcohol) and the price was included in the meal cost.

The staff who served me were friendly and service generally was efficient. Certainly no issues to report...a pleasant visit.

Disgusting
Sep 2018 • Couples
We went to this bar on a Saturday night for a drink. The Door Steward was really friendly and welcoming but inside was a completely different story. The Barman was bad mannered and impatient and the we really couldn't believe the seating area, it was was disgusting with used glasses cluttering the dirty, sticky tables and the amount of food lying on the tatty carpet was ridiculous. We really couldn't believe that places like this existed nowadays. A disgrace.

Food good, staff friendly, place could do with a deep clean
Mar 2018 • Couples
Visited here a few times, food always been ok, staff always friendly, polite, and price of a coffee fantastic and lovely. However got to be honest called in recently for a coffee and didn’t even stay for a refill as place looked if not been cleaned properly for some time. It is a shame as place is not a bad place, staff are nice, and when eaten there on occasions enjoyed the food, hope things pick up soon.

Meal
Nov 2017 • Couples
Only had an hour to have dinner so decided to go to the liquorice gardens in Worksop..I ordered the 14oz Medium rare Rump steak £2 extra..and a peppercorn sauce..It arrived in 10mins..Unfortunately the sauce didn't arrive and when I asked they said I didn't order any..Not a great start..I tried to cut into the steak and it looked and tasted dry and tasteless..No idea how they could manage to make it so disgusting..I have had this meal at this and other wetherspoons but this far and away the worst meal I have ever had..No one came to check how the meal was maybe they knew. I did write to tell them but just got an awful standard letter back saying thanks for the feedback. Oh well you live and learn..Not be eating here again..Cheap but not cheerful..
