Went in the unicorn public house following a Christmas meal. I went there with my son and friends. We had several drinks.
The pub wasn't too busy as it was only 9pm ish. We were served fairly quickly, and drinks not overly expensive. The pub was clean and tidy.
Would recommend for drinks with friends.

Nice pub with lots of big screen TVs and decent beer with a good selection, they don't serve hot food but you can get a sarnie like we did and they were good.

I have given this pub the rating I have because it is listed in the Good Beer Guide for 2017 as having 4 changing beers. We arrived mid afternoon and found that there was only 1 on which was Bombadier, and only average tasting. The young lady that served us was very pleasant though. Dog friendly as there was a boxer dog in.

Stayed for a night. Managed to get a king size room. Bed was so comfy. Staff cannot do enough for you. Dinner was great. There was a tribute act on "Frankie Valli". All tables booked so we're seated as close as they could then Kim found us an empty table right at the front of the show. Brilliant!!!! Breakfast in the morning was superb. Great choice and service.
Only down side, our room was directly above the bar and there was a lot of noise.

We found The Unicorn to be a friendly local in the centre of town.

The staff are friendly, a good choice of cask ales, and best of all, they do not serve meals, although they sell sandwiches on weekends. There are lots of tvs which show a wide range of sports - you only have to ask for it and they will do their best to put it on,

The bar is also a child-free zone, which was great, especially on the weekends when it is really busy and we don't have to worry about little uns running around.

We visited Worksop for the day and unfortunately picked on this pub for a drink and a meal. We were a party of two adults and one child age 3, fast asleep in a pushchair and we were told in no uncertain terms that children were not allowed. We about turned and left much to the amusement of the one or two regulars that were there.
The Unicorn is stuck in the 70's and if you have children then don't bother as we certainly won't go back there again.
