Stench was unbelievable!
Aug 2021
Went with a group yesterday, the state of the paths covered in birds & dog poo was terrible. Don’t they ever swill them down? Or they could put sand down as it covered our shoes… The stench of the reservoir & awful green slime was making us all gag it was so bad. 🤮 Lots of smelly stagnant water in a dyke too. . Food in cafe ok but getting too expensive for a snack… Carparks were half empty at 11:30am when we all met up, now we know why.

Lonely chilly morning walk with great photo opportunities.

Absolutely & truly forgot how much I love this place... my Dad used to take me “round the res” regularly as a child as we lived close by growing up & I have to say it really was a lovely walk - albeit a little too busy later on. The wildlife and ambiance is fabulous and we really enjoyed exploring the rear of the weir.

Needs a serious clean up. Too many rats!
Jul 2020
Went for a walk during an afternoon including a family member in a wheelchair. We were disappointed at the amount of algae on the lake, general rubbish around the trail which obviously attracted the rats in large numbers. They are not afraid of humans and ran on the paths around us probably expecting food wrappings to be dropped. Too many rats even in the car park where we couldn’t go to the bin as there were several trying to find a way to climb up it. We won’t be returning again until it’s cleaned up.

Not happy
Jul 2020 • Family
I am absolutely appalled by the state of the reservoir really am as a visitor to this place I felt the state of the water was not nice the amount of algae was disgusting. Very disappointed. The amount of dog mess also was disgusting, my parents who have recently visited Langold country park have said that the lake there was clear no algae on the lake no dog mess at all. The amount of money which has been spent on kings mill reservoir and the state of it is appalling.
