As we are new to the area popped in here one Friday evening and the couple of locals in there spoke as did the polite staff and it made us feel welcome.
It is a good 60s-70s style pub with a good choice of ales ect. and is dog friendly so will be visiting again!

I love this pub. No fuss, always a warm welcome. Not a gastro pub, if you remember proper boozers this is one.

Good choice of beers and snacks behind bat. Friendly chatty local staff. Accommodating of dogs on tap side. Has a pool table and darts board which is always a bonus. A nice place to sit outside on a sunny afternoon. Has a good car park.

What you expect from the local, quality beer and pool table. Easy to get to and decent car park. Grandad goes there all the time, his favourite pub.

Dates back over 400 years and unspoilt. Not the poshest public house but, if you want great beer this is the place to come, having said that the lounge room is as comfortable as one could expect. No food, no children in the bars but, there is a beer garden. An unspoilt English pub that strangers can walk into the 'best room' (tap room, not lounge), named by the locals and join in conversation as if you have been a regular for years.Traditional pub games and quizzes on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday and Sunday. The Sunday quiz is rather different and the quiz master is as much fun as the family fortune questions. Ask and normally if you want to eat a takeaway in the pub that is OK. Children are only allowed on the beer garden or hallway due to the licence held..
