Changed hands

I had not been to the Beer Shack since last when I really enjoyed my visit so I was initially disappointed to see that it had changed hands. I should not have been!
The Shack is now the tap house for Langwith Brewing Company, a local micro-brewery producing unfined beers so all the brews are suitable for vegans.
given that the ale is unfined I was pleasantly surprised how clear and tasty it was. Although no food was available a bowl of free nuts is offered with your drinks.
It is a very small bar which leads a a friendly and sociable atmosphere. The landlady was also very welcoming and entertaining.
We only had time for one pint before leaving for the match. after another dismal performance how we wished we had stayed longer.

Fabulous Micro Bar with a great choice of Real Ales
Apr 2016 • Couples
We've been going to the beer shack in Hucknall since it opened but this is our first visit to the Beer Shack in Mansfield. It's off the beaten track but has a welcoming appeal. Chris was the landlord on duty when we arrived he is so friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Nothing was too much trouble for him. His vinyl music collection is ace. There is a great selection of beers and even a glass of good red wine for the non beer drinker. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Chris for a lovely evening

What a fabulous experience this is. Unfortunately there was no live music on the night I visited but the vinyl turntable and customers selecting what to play more than made up for it. Will definitely be back

My first micro pub
Aug 2015 • Friends
I was in Mansfield for the first football match of the season to see Carlisle United. the Beer Shack is only a few minutes walk from the railway station; and I had agreed to meet a few friends there.
As "micro" suggests it is tiny, I'd guess there were about 20 people there and it was full! Most were standing as there are only a few bar stools. A very friendly and sociable atmosphere and beer only £2.50 a pint. Four ever changing ales on draft plus some ciders and bottled beers were also available, but no lager.
The manager was very friendly and welcoming and seems to really enjoy his work, and was very happy to recommend other pubs in the Mansfield and Nottingham areas. Fixtures permitting I will be back next season.
P.S. we drew 1-1

Cracking Little Micro and I Mean Micro 'Pub'
Jan 2015 • Couples
This is a former shop, stands on the corner of Dame Flogan Street, smallest boozer I have ever been in. This was my second visit, always four real ales on the go, bottled beers as well. A lot of the regulars take in pies, cheese etc. , and offer it to anyone calling in. highly unusual place, I would say around a 15 to 20 people and it would be full - and jammed. Very welcoming manageress, everyone talks and is friendly. They also have a place in Hucknall and also Burnley of all places. Real ale drinkers paradise. Well worth a visit for real ale lovers.
