A Quiet Place
Sep 2021
This is a lovely little garden where you can sit and relax during a busy day. We always stop by for a quiet 20 minutes or so when visiting Morpeth. A lovely quiet place.

An unexpected treat awaits visitors to Morpeth this is a garden built on two levels with unusual and exotic plants trees and shrubs that offers those staying a while an opportunity to enjoy some P and Q to enjoy a quick snack or a larger picnic, there are no tables but plenty of seats.

Inspirational and calming.

This garden is teeming with wildlife, beautiful plants and features. So much crammed into such a relatively small space. We were inspired to come home and do some work to make our own garden more wildlife friendly.

A hidden treasure
Apr 2017 • Family
Having lived in the county for over 20 years and worked in Morpeth for 5, I only discovered this little gem last weekend. It is well hidden behind the Old Bakery cafe. It's a perfect place to sit and chill over lunch. There are little areas such as the Woodland garden designed for a special purpose, When we were there we caught several different kinds of birds by surprise on the feeders or the lawn, and despite being in the middle of Morpeth it was easy to imagine we were in the countryside if we ignored the post office vans over the fence!. Lovely mosaics and plenty of information.

Well hidden but well worth it.

The classic secret garden but only yards from the busy high street. Loads of places nearby to buy a sandwich and coffee and enjoy peace and tranquility.

Hard to find - Secret Garden
Apr 2016
It took a while to find this 'secret garden' as clearly not too many locals - even the tourist office - know about it either! We had a bite to eat at the Old Bakehouse Cafe and then visited the garden. The best description is perhaps that it is full of promise, but perhaps a bit too early for any drama or show of colour.

Hidden away, worth finding !

This is a peaceful public garden just off the Main Street in Morpeth, and worth seeking out for some peace and quiet in this busy little town.
There's a good cafe on the way down the lane, good coffee!

Hidden gem 💎

We visit the gardens regularly. Such a peaceful place tucked away behind the shops. Even better in full bloom in the Spring and Summer. A lovely little oasis of peace and quiet.
Cafe worth a visit too, good old fsshioned food served by pleasant staff.

A wonderful haven behind the shops in Newgate Street. A beautiful garden, beautifully maintained. Well worth seeking out down Old Bakehouse Yard and there's a great cafe nearby!
