Great day out with 5yr old granddaughter. She loved bottle feeding the baby lambs (long queues in school hols so only get 20 seconds or so for photo). As with other reviews, cuddling other animals was fun, too, as was using the animal feed (£1 a bag at the entry gate) for slightly bigger lambs. She even spray numbered a lamb who was a few days old so farmers knew she was one of twins.
She loved the magician who was a "bit cheeky".
The centre recently added a long slide using inflatable rings which looked fun.
We knew to get booked timeslot - it is on the website but if turn up without checking the website it explains others experiencing delays to get in.
There is a cafe but also indoor and outdoor picnic areas.

So much to do.
Visited on a decent weather day. But there seems to be activities to account for adverse weather.
Indoor soft play, picnic barn, raving cars and animals
Outdoor trampoline, animal displays, air pillows, big slide go karts little playground and adventure playground on the front near the car park. (Which there's lots of space for) So good and bad weather catered by for plus old and young ends of your party.
In the mini tractors (little one) and go karts (big ones) and stuff for everyone in trampolines etcs. So.they do really have a lot going for them this place.
One thing we struggled with though was the condition of the animals - limping sheep, a limping (dragging it's leg) meerkat were some that didn't look the healthiest which was a little worrying. Pony with a abscess on its face in the first barn?
We had ice-cream which was wonderful.
Entry might seem expensive at 13/14 per person even kids. But you do get a tractor r ride and animal experiences included (feeding sheep, small furry handling, bird displays) which are often charged separately at other places so essentially it is good value for money. That being said the concern still lies with the animals welfare I've seen responses stating they are inspected regularly. But there was no notices to advise you the animal was under treatment for x,yz which would put you at ease knowing then were taken care of. The bird cages did seem small especially for one poor American kestrel. which despite being flown regularly why not give them a bit more living space?
Chap who was flying the birds was very knowledgeable helpful and friendly. Young lady in teh cafe was very kind, friendly and chatty with my daughter which was lovely.
Essentially lots to keep you entertained for.the day, nice gift shop on the way out. But welfare was concerning.

Came with a couple of (adult) friends & had a fantastic day - helped by the sun being out and it being red hot!
It was my first visit since before covid & it's great to see that the high standards haven't dropped. Plenty of places to wash your hands under hot running water, with the soap & hand towels always full.
Plenty to do for people of all ages - even if one attraction/area is a little busy, there's so much else there that there is always something else to do while you wait for it to quieten down.
All the activities are included in the admission price (including the tractor rides, bottle-feeding lambs, close animal encounters, inflatable pillows & slides), with the only extras being animal feed (£1 per bag which goes a LONG way!) and the reasonably priced cafe (with no obligation to eat there, and plenty of picnic spaces available for you bring/eat your own food).
All the animals seem so happy and you can tell the staff really care about them. During the interactive sessions the staff know all the animals individually so are very careful to place the more confident animals with the visitors who may be a bit more boisterous, and give the more timid animals a wide berth where needed. They were also very sensible & selective in relation to whom animals that can be adopted from the centre can go to, they're clearly not in it for the money!
The staff are a real credit to the centre and can't do enough for both the visitors and the animals. A special shout out to Olivia who really went above & beyond in giving us a fantastic time handling the small animals!

This was our first visit. When we booked on line we were a little shocked at the price, we thought that this seemed a little expensive for a petting zoo. However when we arrived and how much we enjoyed our day we felt that the cost was justified and worth every penny. All the animals were available to feed (you could buy animal food for 65p) and this meant our daughter got to hand feed the goats and other animals. We also really liked that there was a trampoline park and bouncy cushions. These were quiet at the time we used them but they did busy up around lunch time, which is what we expected to happen. We enjoyed a tractor ride in the trailer which took us to see the cows up close in the field. Everything was cleaned well with disinfectant before use. The petting area was great. We got assigned a little rabbit that if my daughter had her own way would have been place up her coat to bring home. There was a large park with plenty of things to do, the big slides were the main attraction and even our daughter enjoy these whilst sat on her daddy’s knee. A great day for all the family.

We had a diappointing experience. It was raining and the lack of facilities on a wet day meant that we had run out of things to do after 2 hours. Normally at farm parks customers are given a list of times of things happening that day. In this case there was limited information or staff available to inform customers about events planned. Maps used to be given to customers with a timetable of feeding events.
We queued with other families for the tractor ride, only to be disappointed when the tractor didn't arrive at the advertised time. We eventually found a member of staff and asked what was happening with the tractor. We were eventually told that it wasn't running today. The indoor play was closed which is fair enough due to covid restrictions. The farm park facilities appeared to have been scaled back, however, this should be reflected in the admission price. The day cost us £40 for a family of 4 which for the facilities available is far too much.

We are really disappointed to read your comments following your visit with us, its always a shame when the Great British Weather strikes on a day out and we are sorry to hear this impacted your day with us. Pre Covid-19 we always gave out maps and activity timetables out to our visitors, for safety we have decided to temporarily stop doing this, mainly to avoid contact items for our guests. We have however placed large posters at several prominent locations around the farm, including the entrance gate to let our visitors know how we are running. These posters along with large copies of our site map can be photographed to help you find your way around the farm. Our staff are always on hand to assist and answer questions to help you make the most of your day with us.
Rather than scaling back activities, we have actually added extra measures, rather than having set times where you can meet our birds of prey, handle animals etc these sessions now run all day. We made this decision to stop crowds gathering, for everyone's safety. Its a change which has received some excellent feedback and ensures all our visitors can safety interact with all our animals in a controlled way. We have a queue system in place for the petting barn, with various stations set out to meet, hold and learn about a wide variety of animals. Our staff sanitise stations between every use, and you make your way through the barn just in your family bubble. Our falconer is also at our bird of prey area all day (slight break over lunch) where you can see him feeding, training and flying the birds as well as offering handling opportunities too.
We are so sorry you had issues with the tractor ride. On the day of your visit the tractor ride was taken off for safety reasons. The tractor generally runs out into the field to get up close with the animals, however due to the torrential rain we had there was a risk the tractor would get stuck. We can only apologise this wasn't clearly communicated on the day.
The soft play area as you point out is still closed, the restrictions the government have placed on the opening of soft play areas, have meant its sadly not feasible for ours to open.
We did offer via our social media and website for customers to change their tickets this week due to the weather, as a gesture of goodwill. Reducing prices really isn't an option for us, we are confident we can offer a good value day out for the family whatever the weather.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback, its only by receiving both good and bad comments we can learn where we need to improve. We are all very passionate about what we do here, and our visitors leaving us having had a good day and making lots of happy memories is at the centre of everything we do. We are sorry that on this occasion we have not met your expectations.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of your visit further please do not hesitate to drop me an email to dawn@whitehousefarmcentre.co.uk

We had visitors come to stay over Easter with 2 children aged 4 and 6 and we were looking for something hands on for the little ones to do.
Whitehouse Farm is geared totally towards entertaining your children and lots of hands on experiences although I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the experiences too.
From bottle feeding lambs to handling "Creepy Crawlies"(I gave this one a miss!
There was also a children's entertainer inside a marquee so even though it rained for a little while the kids were kept amused and dry. Kids loved this entertainer and he also did audience participation. All kids were screaming with laughter.
You are issued with a timetable of everything that is going on throughout the day so easy to see and do things each child wants to do.
You can take your own picnic too as there are plenty of places with picnic benches although there is a cafe onsite too. We had hot drinks from the cafe.
Staff were very friendly and approachable.
You could actually spend the whole day there without the kids getting bored.
Our visitors kids had a great day, came home exhausted, and happy.

Family friendly activities to cater for all ages. Great range of different animals and activities to cover all ages. Plenty of opportunities for hands on and multiple options to get indoors if the Northumbrian weather gets a bit too much. Several school parties were in at the same time we arrived, but staff were really quick to point out they had staff there specifically for the parties and plenty other staff were around to look after other guests, which was a great touch.
Special thanks to the first aider in the cafe (forgot his name, but long blonde hair and a big beard) who was fantastic when our wee lad had a bit of an accident (totally his fault), but was handled fantastically

Feeding the lambs and being able to hold animals with help. Animals looked well catered for and as a family we didn't feel rushed when feeding or holding the animals.
If myself or anyone I know come to this area I would definitely recommend this farm as it's well worth the money.

A great family experience with so much to do for the whole family. There were minimal queues at any attractions or in the cafe. The animals are fantastic and really great for young children to be able to get up close ago them. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to.
I have one issue with entry. The website does not specify that you MUST book a time slot for entry so we arrived to buy tickets at the gate and were told to wait and try and book a slot online, the next one was 30 minutes away; we weren’t the only arrivals who had the same issue as there were approx 40 people waiting by the time we went in. The ticket lady was very nice and did help filter people through but I would suggest that the website be updated to reflect that you MUST pre book.
Other than the entry issue, I couldn’t fault this for a fun, family activity day. Thank you to everyone!

We were looking for something to do with our beautiful Grandson and stumbled upon a leaflet for this place. We struck gold........ what an absolute gem of a place. The animals are so well looked after. We spent a lot of time with the Falconer who was so knowledgeable which was great but the outstanding thing was the interaction, love and care he showed for each bird and their individual personalities. We got to see them being fed and we were amazed by their different characters all brought to life when interacting with the Falconer.
We also got to feed the baby lambs their bottles which our 1yr old Grandson thought was great. We bought bags of feed and had a great time feeding the different animals.
We didn't go on the tractor but the people on there were all smiles, so that's something for next time.
The small animal petting area was cute.
I can honestly say that every member of staff were smiling and helpful.
The only thing we would have liked to do was take our grandson down the big slide, but it was shut.... another thing for next time. 🙃
So much to do and so much knowledge to learn. A great day out with lots of picnic areas.

Do you have to pay for all other activities inside the farm, other than the mentioned go-kart, indoor racing cars, donut dash, go karts etc? Please advise the rates of all these activities. As the entrance charges are not cheap (almost 30 pounds), I need to quantify the amount of monies I will need to spend here.
