About
A micropub specialising in all that is beer. With 4 ever changing cask beers, craft beer by the bottle and traditional ciders on tap. We also have a small selection of quality wine, soft drinks and if course, pies! We don't have...music, tv, alcopopsor spirits, as per the original micropub ethos

    Found by chance
I found this hidden gem when I was trying to hide from the rain. Its hidden down an alley making it feel really special. Nice selection of beers and ciders. I had a lovely pint of dark mild sitting outside in the beer garden , protected from the rain by canopies.

Pies and Beers, what more is there to say?
We found this little Micro pub on the internet as we wanted some real ales while visiting the Wonderful town of Berwick upon Tweed. After a lovely and thrilling walk along the town walls, we were in need of some refreshment and so visited The Curfew. It is found down a back passage, opening up to a courtyard. We sampled a few of the beers and they were all good. We even had some of their pork pies and game pie, which came with both a relish and mustard (English) which was very much appreciated. This is defiantly worth a visit, a little more expensive than some places around but so well worth the extra expense. If I am ever in the area again I will return there. Defiantly worth a visit.

    Small, but beautifully formed!
We were lucky enough to be in Berwick this February when The Curfew had a mini beer festival on and we wern't disappointed. If you like your craft beers this place has to be on your visit list. The team know their stuff and there was a wealth of beer to choose from.

An ideal, hidden micropub for the discerning ale aficionado. They offer a broad selection of British and Continental beers in a pleasant decor adorned with rare ale advertising of yore.
The pub sits at the back of a ginnel, but is much more spacious than it at first appears. Positive: no music.
This is definitely the best watering-hole in Berwick-upon-Tweed and possibly in the North East as a whole.

I had a brilliant visit here. When travelling solo, it can feel quite intimidating to walk into a pub but I didn't feel this at all when walking into the Curfew. The server said hello right away and was very helping in guiding me towards my desired pint. I was pleasantly surprised to pay under £4 for a pint of IPA too, really reasonable. I sat outside in the covered patio area and enjoyed my drink. This felt like a really laid-back, unpretentious place to enjoy craft beer and I would definitely go back.

Staying in Berwick-upon-Tweed with my wife we did an internet search and came across this amazing place.

Only a 5 minute walk from where we were staying it is an incredible little micropub with a wide range of incredible beers, at reasonable prices, staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to let you try different drinks and provide recommendations.

Would highly recommend a visit for anybody that enjoys good beers and friendly staff!

Visited the Curfew last weekend - great beer and wonderful staff and service. Sat outside and then in after booking ahead - felt very safe and nothing was a bother for the two members of staff working. Will deffo return, many thanks x

What a great find tucked away down an alley. We used this micropub every night for a week whilst in holiday. The beers are great and well kept, the wines are varied and well chilled. The staff are so friendly and the owners are very welcoming. You feel as if you are part of their family. Brilliant!

We came down from Edinburgh mainly to visit here and it was worth the train fair. Not surprisingly it was very busy as the 2 ales I tried were very good and only £3 odd a pint. Staff really nice, only small complaint, 1 gents toilet

Found this wee gem by Google. What an absolute cracking place, cater for inside & out, covers over the exterior.
Guy was pleasant behind the wee bar & the ales on sale were 2nd to none & was nice to sit & hear the locals chat.
Well done to all. 5 🌟

There are few places I'd rather be at any given time of day than The Curfew. It's the highlight of any of our visits to Berwick-upon-Tweed. They have interesting and varied beers on, always in good condition, the staff are friendly and the locals and other visitors tend to be up for a chat. There's also pie. Lovely, lovely pie. I wish I was there now.

Lovely little micropub - we found it by chance on our walk. Vegan options for tap and bottled beer, and bar snacks, too. Quite busy and nice atmosphere - classic micropub with no frills. Would recommend!
