Stunning centrepiece of the town
Nov 2021 • Friends
You can’t miss seeing this iconic structure regardless of which way you enter the town, wasn’t aware you could go tours & no sign of any today but it looked majestic all lit up with the Christmas lights, really picturesque, don’t take my word for it though!

Very Interesting tour
Aug 2021
This tour is of a building featured in the work of LS Lowry, right in the centre of Berwick. It is a must for everyone with an interest in local government and the numerous re-organisations it has undergone, the evolution of crime and punishment from the 18th Century, and the historical ephemera of life in Berwick-upon-Tweed and around. And if you are searching for photographs and mementoes of royal visits to Berwick, look no further.

Only four of us along with the highly knowledgeable and entertaining “keeper” of the town hall. Very interesting and entertaining. The time flew in.
A wee gem.

Nov 2019
The town hall sits proudly in the centre of berwick and is a lovely building. That are times when various stalls are inside and well worth a visit. Another history related building.

Berwick Town Hall
Apr 2019
Berwick upon Tweed is very different from other English towns. There's no dominating colour there. Usually, when one is travelling around England, can quite fast notice that there are different colours dominating in different areas of the country. Whitish, greyish, reddish. Depends on local sources of building materials, habits, tradition, likes. In case of colours, Berwick looks more like some towns of continental Europe. Central Europe. And amid these colourful facades and elevations, at the end of Marygate, can be found dignified brownish silhouette of Town Hall, built in years 1754-1760 of local sandstone. I guess, because I'm not geologist. I'm just judging by the weathering of the material used for its construction. Apart from tall clock tower with spire, characteristic for Town Hall building is Neoclassical portico with four columns topped with pediment with old English coat of arms in the middle of it. Of interesting things to see inside of building there's old gaol that didn't change since 19th century, and array of other rooms housing local collection of arts. Quite impressive edifice, though.

Unusual Building
Sep 2019
In the main street of Berwick you will come across this building which is a very unique and interesting place. It is still used and has a cafe to the rear. At the time there were nobody to show us around but all the same very impressive place.
