What an incredible feat of engineering! The walls and the bastions are just incredible. There are steep drops, but am thankful that these are not cordoned off as that would completely ruin the spectacle. Just keep your children and dogs under control! Walk around is...More

Great place for a holiday it must be as the population is around 12000 but swells to over 45000 in the holiday period. One of 2 walled towns in the UK the other is York. York is larger with more shops and attraction but Berwick...More

Great for a Sunday morning walk (even on a drizzly day). Check out the riverside Quay and the castle on the hill and by the water.

Berwick upon Tweed is maybe not the most stunning location ever, but the walls are very nice. Great place for a lovely walk with good views and photo possibilities.

Didn't realise just how impressive these walls are. Fantastic walk around the town. Despite people on here complaining about them being dangerous, yes there are drops, but there are numerous signs warning of this. It is actually refreshing to find that it hasn't been sanitised...More

Well built 16th century defences of Berwick against the Scots. Shortly after its completion the two crowns were united and its needs were negated. They enclose the old town and have been kept in superb order for us to enjoy
