This huge impressive structure dominates the town and the Tweed river providing a landmark transition close to the border, terrific views when travelling over and easily viewed from the old road bridge to the east and the riverside walk on the north west side.

The Royal Border Bridge takes the East Coast Main line over the River Tweed when journeying from London to Edinburgh. Coming from the south the line skirts along the coast then curves inland and you get a great view of the bridge as you go...More

The bridge links Edinburgh and London and was the last stage of the railway to be completed. The stone came from Berwick Castle and the Station was built where the Great Hall used to stand. The view along the Tweed and out to sea as...More

The eastern side of Northumberland always seems to me to be a land of level crossings so that makes the bridge even more surprising when you see it. When in Berwick I like to go up onto the ramparts and wait for a train to...More

Every time I come to Edinburgh on the train I’m reminded that the most picturesque bridge in Berwick is the one I’ve gone over (ok maybe the suspension bridge is better) and am therefore not able to see it. Today we had a walk around...More

It really is a pity that countless thousands of people have crossed this bridge by train without being able to see the splendid structure that it is. It is a beautiful piece of railway architecture and the fact that it is still in use after...More

Walked down to the estuary to gain a better view. This is comparable to Ribble Valley - breathtaking. Spent longer than anticipated here as the bridge was so beautiful

Walked underneath the bridge and read some of the history in building it. Amazing considering the tools they used so long ago and a testament to British bridge building.
