Simply stunning, one of the nicest cleanest beaches we’ve ever visited. Golden sand as far as the eye can see, clear water and beautiful rolling sand dunes. Close to two lovely little towns and bamburgh castle. A rival for woolacombe beach in Devon. Beautiful part of the country and much quieter than devon but just as nice if not nicer

Lovely trip to Bamburgh. Normally on this coastal visit to the north east I head straight to the castle but today I got here early to enjoy a lovely walk along the beach.
It is lovely I really enjoyed the peaceful nature and only being able to here the sounds of the waves crashing.
There are a lot of dog walkers about which is nice to see and the beach is so vast you can easily spread out. I was so happy to see the lack of litter in this lovely piece of Northumberland. The water was cold but that didn’t stop me paddling to take in the experience. Loved it. I definitely recommend a visit if you want to relax in the area. It is not the easiest beach to access but crossing the small dunes was fun.

Just walked along this beach watching the ☀️ rise. This is absolutely a fantastic beach. Great for walking 🚶 the dog 🐕 on. We walked as far as Bamburgh Castle 🏰 . It was just empty so we had it all to our selves. If you are in the area come and experience it for yourself.

This is a lovely sandy beach with a car park and toilets very close by. It is accessed by walking around the cricket field and over the dunes. It is very soft sand and quite hard walking through the dunes! It is well worth it though. You can walk to Seahouses along the beach too. The beach was full of dog walkers and picnickers. It is quite spectacular looking up at the imposing Bamburgh Castle.

One of the most interesting churches I have visited . A must on a Northumberland tour .The story of the Anglo-Saxon burials is worth a visit on its own .
Gorgeous location and free .to enter including the crypt. Please donate on your visit as it deserves our full support .

This amazing, stunning beach is ruined by folk letting their dogs run free. Not so bad if there weren't hundreds of them!

The common response as a dog runs at you or your children is, 'It won't hurt you', or 'It won't trouble'. It just has!

Please take more care dog owners.

I would like the beach to be statutorily dog free between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.. Then I would give 5 stars.

An absolutely beautiful beach totally ruined by the hoards of unruly dogs everywhere! We were unable to let our children aged two and three play as dogs continually pestered them, jumped on them and ran up to them. My little boy was knocked over by a huge dog which had run off and was screaming, when the owners appeared we just got a passing glance and no sorry! Such a lovely location which has recently turned into a dog walking destination rather than a family beach, also loads of dog poo on the path between car park and beach. Very disappointed.

A long wide beach with no development to spoil the view and the castle in the background. The sand is very firm and flat so very easy to walk on.

Unfortunately there are far too many dogs around, which seems to be an issue with the majority of beauty spots nowadays. Not everybody adores them.

OK, the weather in the UK doesn't lend itself to beach holidays. Suntanning isn't on offer, but for lovely walks (including the dog) there is no better beach. The sands are soft. The coastline is beautiful, with the magnificent Bamburgh castle to add to the drama. Even at high tide the beach is wide and in September anyway almost deserted. Perfect for a romantic walk, space to think, or a more energetic jog without worrying about traffic. You can park for free along the road between Bamburgh and Seahouses, walk over the dunes and you are on the beach watching the waves crash in.

Run by the National Trust, but there is no charge, unless you pay to park in one of the car parks near the castle.

The skies were really spectacular the day we walked the beach. after visiting the castle a previous day we had to return and explore. the only drawback for me was the number of dogs. They were everywhere. So if you want to walk dogs this is for you. If you want to play on the sand with children, hard to find a quiet spot, as most dogs were off the leads so having a fine time running everywhere.
