Having been three years ago I decided on a lovely hot summers day to have a visit. It is still as beautiful as ever. The scenery around here is breathing, and the silence apart from the distant sound of cows in the fields is lovely....More

This site is off the Alnwick to Rothbury road and may be missed if you are not sharp-eyed. There is limited parking adjacent to the site. The ruins are just about intact enough to visualise its former glory- now it is atmospheric ruins but still...More

We stumbled upon the ancient castle ruin on the drive back to our caravan park. It is well worth stopping for a closer look. Boards telling the history very informative.

Not many people visit Edlingham, mainly because it's off the beaten track. Actually, it's off a minor road, down a rough track and them a walk between cow fields. Once there, there's not a lot to see, but just enough if you use your imagination...More

We were always passing on the Rothbury to Alnwick road so decided to stop and spent a happy hour exploring the church and castle. The church is very peaceful

Was a fun afternoon even if the weather let us down. As a family of seven we all found something to keep us happy. Will recommend to our friends for their visit to nirthumberland.

My 2nd trip to Edlingham castle. Once more, the peace and tranquillity of this place, whilst a mile off the "Rothbury-Alnwick road" there was such wonderful quiet on Friday in January 2018. Just us, the scenery and the sheep - wonderful. It will not take...More

We took a short detour when we spotted the castle nestling down in the valley on our way from Alnwick to Rothbury. So glad we did! Not only was there the ruined castle but also a beautiful little church. The castle itself certainly defies gravity...More
