About
As close as we'll ever get to a real-life Fast and Furious scene, the Formula One British Grand Prix racing car event takes place in the legendary Silverstone stadium. Since 1950 the former aerodrome has served as the leading racing car track holding host to legendary drivers such as Guiseppe Farina and Lewis Hamilton. While the event is always televised, nothing beats the live engine roars and contagious adrenaline. It’s all extreme nail biting and constant screeching as the world’s fastest cars leave you in a state of anxiety as they compete for the title of ‘Formula One World Champion’.

My first Grand Prix and won’t be the last
Jul 2021 • Family
🇬🇧 🏎 this was our first visit to the Grand Prix and we we’re in the general admission area. 3 day weekend. There is a festival feel to the event with races throughout the Friday to Sunday. You can move around to see the racing from various locations. There are big screens throughout to watch the races when it’s not nearby.

The fans are all really friendly and you can meet some really nice people.

In the evening there were concerts to watch my daughter loved these.

As expected there is plenty of food and drink on offer but expect to pay more than you normally would. Probably the same as any other event.

Throughout the day the there is plenty to do in the fanzone

I’ve already booked for next year and can’t wait for it.

Fantastic weekend
Jul 2021
Booked 3 day tickets for Club Corner, as we did on previous years. Also got fast track tickets, well worth the extra. In keeping with all large events, food and drink extortionate prices but plentiful and not too bad for queues. Scorching hot, very few shaded areas and for once we hadnt booked front row seats - turned out to be a lucky call as we were a few rows up and in the shade. Honestly dont know how people could cope with the blazing sun without shade. A really well organised event until it came to trying to get out of the carpark on Saturday evening. Sat for 1.5 hours without moving an inch. NO marshalls to be seen anywhere, absolute shambles. Everyone expects it to be slow when so many people are trying to leave but there was no one directing traffic and it was total chaos.
Wont put me off going again though, tickets already booked for 2022.

bad experience
Jul 2021
Our first experience this year - we booked a whole weekend of F1 - Friday to Sunday. I am not sure we'll go back, no matter how much we love the sport. Unless of course they make some improvements to the sitting areas and overall experience. We know by now COVID has been an excuse for bad companies that provide bad customer service. F1 took this to the extreme. So, before going:
1) Appalling customer service, no one replies your emails and no one answers the phone.
2) Pretty bad website and booking service
At Silverstone:
1) No one knows anything, literally, I felt sorry for the volunteers. Not their fault
2) Parking: we were assigned a parking area but no one knew where it was
3) Schedule was all over the place
4) Food is really bad and the bathrooms are really dirty
5) The inner track was worth nothing, not sure what that is for. The F1 drivers barely stopped and said hi when they arrived and we had been standing there in the inner track under the sun for hours waiting for them. Really sad for our kids to see so much arrogance.
6) F1 made zero provision for the heat wave - which was not a surprise at all. No shaded areas were organised , no sprinklers, nothing was done at all to relieve the people who didn't have shaded seats. It would have been pretty easy and quick to organise some shade before the event, some temporary covers. We saw people fainting, burnt backs and the poor volunteers who had to stand there for hours were given zero protection from the sun.

View at Stowe (General Admission)
Jul 2021
Once again, had a great experience at the Formula One GP and this year viewed from Stowe corner general admission. This was a great place to watch from and I would highly recommend it! Once again, it was a great race day and was very thought out and safely planned (Covid stuff). Highly recommended and I'm sure I'll be back next year!

RIP off
Jul 2021 • Friends
Woodlands campsite claims to be the closest to the track, maybe if you get there Wednesday morning at 4am otherwise it's a 35min walk. It's called a campsite but in actual fact it's a mass of fields with nowhere near enough facilities. Let's not get started on the price of beer inside the track £25 for 6 330ml cans of Heineken.

Hot F1
Jul 2021
Four of us went to the Grand Prix in July , we had Paddock Passes and it was still in the Covid restrictions . I must say they handled all the tests and paperwork very efficiently it was most impressive. The view and the food were both great. It was great to also see the sprint race on the Saturday. The weather was excellent as well on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Excellent stay
Jul 2021 • Friends
Very good over all, I stayed with Intents short walk to the circuit, but a long walk if your in Copse corner or further, bring your radar key for disabled toilets or you can ask for one, golf buggy's easy to get in the morning but after a race it seemed impossible, 1hr-2hr wait times.

If you have difficultly in walking you'd be best to either, bring your own wheel chair, hire one at- I think £10 per day or a mobilty scooter at £30 per day (2021) prices. Disabled viewing platform's seem not to have covering (i couldn't see any) so bring an umbrella for shade from the sun or cover from the rain.

Silverstone involves lots of walking, especially to the Entertainment Village which is a brilliant end to an F1 day and after 9pm maybe earlier 8pm ish not too sure, the golf buggy's are no more until next day, so plan for a mobility scooter/wheelchair etc as to the camping area is a very very long walk.
