Lap Of Lights
Nov 2021
We went to the Lap of Lights and the kids really enjoyed it. I get that some might be disappointed with 'queuing' but actually the kids enjoyed the atmosphere, listening to their names being calle dout on Silverstone Radio and seeing the lights around the track and in other cars - as well as seeing the big guy at the end.
The part that I wasn;t too keen on was the food element - no indication of what was available (that I could find) before the event, so no idea on prices etc. When we got there, we popped to the lodge before our track slot to have a look. It was around £8 for a hot dog, which I guess is ok, but nothing came with it. Seemed overproced, and looks like it would take a long time.
They did have other things there like simulators , axe throwing and curling, but this cost even more money - £10 for a go on the simulator was a rip off! All in all, I think they need to review it a bit - I'm sure they have made a lot of money, but they could have made some things a bit more reasonably priced.

Lap of lights, Absolute rubbish.

A pointless experience. Just one gant traffic jam that took forever to get round. So basic it was embarrassing. Nothing amazing or exciting to see. A real let down. The lodge experience was disappointing nothing much there for young children except for a highly overpriced gift shop.
Shame on you silverstone.

Joke of an attraction
Nov 2021 • Family
There were not nearly enough lights at this LIGHR SHOW. The tour of counties was laugh able. Aparently Asia is just 20 Chinese paper lanterns and Africa is 3 light up triangle. After visiting all seven continents - USA, Asia, Africa, Ocean and Volcano you are left throughly dissatisfied.

The lodge is a cheap cach grab as if the £40 to spend on in a queue wasn't enough.

Of the 40 minutes on the track 20 are spent queuing and the other 20 regretting coming.

I would strongly advice against coming.

Ps. Would also like to mention we had the best possible experience as it was snowing on the day.

Disapointing lights, terrible food experience
Nov 2021 • Family
We took 3 cars at a total cost of £120, so our grown up children and their partners could all join us. The lights were 'okay' but not worth in excess of £10 per person.

The biggest disappointment was the Lodge. Signs warned of a 30 minute wait for food, so we ordered via the app and waited. Exactly 30 minutes later, a member of staff came to tell us that none of the meals we had ordered was available, and invited us to make another selection, with no guarantee as to how long it would take to arrive. As we now did not have time to wait, we asked for a refund. We had to wait while the staff member explained the same issue to another family, before he could process the refund.

LAP OF LIGHTS - JUST TERRIBLE

Total rip off, takes about 20 minutes and gets boring because so many areas have no lights or display at all.

The snow globe displays were all in darkness and not working. Several lazers not working too.

Lights situated in liquid containers and on scaffolding. The idea you are in a country is a joke. Very little to give that impression. Once you are next to the scaffolding that’s all you can focus on. Only good bit is the spinning lazers on the final straight. So very disappointing.

Went to the Lodge to eat some food but it was packed with people, no staff wearing masks in the shop area (despite government guidelines). Every table full with people and old leftovers not cleared away. No where to sit so no way to order any food at all. Not Covid safe and not well thought out. Feels like they just booked as many as possible to get as much money as possible with no thought for the customer experience whatsoever. Left hungry and annoyed. Security staff dressed as elves wearing lights were in good spirits. This is a typical poor experience to rip people off at Christmas. Please save your money and have proper fun somewhere else.

OMG lap of lights what???
Three words: terrible disappointing laughable!
Waited more than 30 mins on the queue with 4 kids on board and the only lights we saw was other cars tail lights. By the time we started the lap of lights kids were well bored at the back and already wanted to go back home. Then the lap itself about 15 mins of seeing some lights and some laughable landmarks like Eiffel Tower five tubes put together with some lights on them, Italy some pictures of Rome, Milan etc, America two big trucks on the side of the road, lava empty plastic containers staked on top of each other with lights inside them!
Kids were not impressed atoll never mined adults.
The best way to sum it up is just watch the video they have on the website anyway, it’s not impressive neither is reality of doing the lap. Laser lights just before you see a giant Santa waiving from side to side were cool but overall;
Disappointment!

This was a really poor show, please don't waste your money! The gaps between the sections were bare and there were hardly any lights or lasers.

Ferrari Racing Experience
Nov 2021 • Friends
After travelling from Dublin to Silverstone we experienced an initial issue with our online booking.

I am pleased to say that Jess and her manager Angela demonstrated some of the finest customer service I have ever experienced to rectify the issue.

Angela and her team rolled out the Silverstone red carpet for our group, which consisted of three middle aged Irish men experiencing the first fervour of a mid life crisis.

Our group consisted of supercar virgin Conor McDonald, a 42 year old motorbike daredevil and social media influencer, James O’Mara a 42 year old househusband and Peleton enthusiast and of course myself, Barrog Dangerburg a 43 year old supercar veteran.

Prior to hitting the track we were provided with a full Silverstone training briefing. Afterwards we headed to the pit lane to meet our excellent instructors and familiarise ourselves with our new cars. Sitting in the cockpit of this Ferrari F430 provided me with a sense of pure joy and happiness only Sildenafil users can relate to. To our amazement Angela organised it that our group would have the whole track to ourselves. After some minor housekeeping it was time to race!!

The whole experience from start to finish was exemplary and probably the most fun I’ve had all year. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

And to answer the most important question you’re all asking……Dangerburg won the race!!

Until next time. Go raibh mile maith agat.

Never going back
Sep 2021 • Couples
I've always been a fan of Silverstone but after my last experience, I don't think I'll ever be returning again.
I had ordered some tickets for an event before the pandemic. At the time of ordering, I had to pay about £4 for postage so they could send my tickets out a couple of weeks before the event. Of course during the pandemic I had assumed the event would either be cancelled or postponed.
A month before the event, no tickets had arrived so I was sure the event was being postponed. Kept checking my emails but nothing. Unfortunately around the same time our family lost someone very special and we were all in complete pain and shock. At this heartbreaking time, understandably I didn't even think of contacting Silverstone and asking them where my ticket was.
The event went ahead as scheduled, and when I realised I contacted them to say that my tickets never arrived and the response was 'well the event was last week'.
I explained the whole situation to them and let's just say.... I'm still waiting for a reply a month later!!!!
Customer service is absolutely appalling for such a large well know organisation.
So I've paid for tickets that never arrived and they've made out I'm to blame for missing the event.
