Decided to have a stroll around this historical building and its grounds. We had not been here for many a year we found it had an addition of a tea room which was excellent, reasonably priced and a good range of fine cakes on offer .we had a caffetier with brownies which were very acceptable. The grounds also has a... More

The first time I visited I took my brother and his wife who were visiting from America. It was a cold, drizzly November afternoon, but two years later I am still extolling what a fantastic place it is to visit. The audio tour brings the whole building to life and you can envisage what it would have been like had... More

Lovely house to visit more than a ruin as it's just unfinished so it's like a little time capsule. You walk in to the lower ground floor and then look up and the building is there in the raw. The gardens are lovely, unfortunately we were late in the day so couldn't get round to see it all. Don't think... More

Lovely peaceful setting with wonderful views over unspoilt countryside. Great place to take our grandchildren especially when there are trails and quizzes to do. Interesting history that children can also enjoy.

We really enjoyed our visit here yesterday! They offer a fab audio tour which makes the place come alive as you walk around he beautiful grounds. I wasn't impressed with the cafe... Poor allergy awareness which loses it a point!

What a fantastic little property to visit on a sunny day! The landscaped grounds are really nice to walk around and the mote itself is pretty cool. Make sure you grab a free audio guide from the visitor centre because, as the staff says, it brings the property to life! We stopped for tea and scones at the cafe so... More

I went here as I am an NT member. The road up to the car park is long and very bumpy as the road hasn't been maintained so it is recommended to drive very slowly. The entrance is a short walk from the car park. The entrance building is small and it also is the shop. The cafe/restaurant is in... More

We spent an afternoon here and were surprised by how much there is to do. The property is fairly small, though very interesting to explore, but the grounds surrounding it make for an equally interesting day out and there are a number of activities laid out for kids, such as pond dipping. The tea room is delightful and the staff... More

We spent a couple of hours here exploring the building and grounds. We highly recommend using the audio guide as you will learn a huge amount that you would otherwise not realise about this place. The tea room had fabulous cream tea and cheese scones too!
