- Dan H1 contributionTheir food “deals”need a major rethinkThe food deal upgrade is a complete rip off. 2 games of bowling + a drink £7.99 each = great deal. 2 games of bowling + a drink + food platter £10.99 = good deal. However paying an extra £3 each to “upgrade” (£13.99 each) from the food platter to a stuffed crust pizza is a complete rip off. The pizza is a shop bought Chicago Town tomato stuffed crust pizza and each £3 upgrade actually only gets you half a pizza. So in all to go from £7.99 for the games with just a drink to £13.99 for the same but with half a pizza means that for 3 of us I paid a total of £18 for one and a half Chicago Town pizzas. I could have bought 4 of them from the shop for that price. It should specify that the extra £3 gets you only half a pizza!! Also every lane had the bumpers/barriers up and when I asked why it was because they all have to be up or not at all.Visited April 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 4, 2023
- AncaangelescuHuntingdon, United Kingdom10 contributionsDissapointingBooked 3 standard games , the line was stopped after the second game , the supervisor( a snappy young lady with no manners) was adamant we had all three games . Finally I had to give up as there was no way I could prove I was right , she was in control of the computer and she wouldn't show me .Pathetic ! I was really not expecting that disgusting treatment . I don't think I'll go there any more or recommend it to anyone.Visited January 2022Traveled with familyWritten January 8, 2022

- Lashesss2 contributionsAVOID AT ALL COSTS!We attended the £7.50 unlimited bowl from 9:30 until 11:30 when it closed. It took 5 of us an hour and a half to play a game of bowling as our lane broke down 3 times. One of the times we reported the brake down to a member of staff we was left waiting for 15 minutes before having to report it again, we were then moved lanes. 2 rolls into our second game, (which only had 4 players as the littlest one had got bored of all the waiting and gone to play the arcades!) they shut the lanes down and we was told it was over. We then asked the manager if we could have a small refund and just pay for one game as that’s all we got to have due to the brake downs where we was told very rudely no and made to feel as if we was in the wrong for even asking. The decor is extremely dated, disgusting rude staff and it seems most mechanical things brake often. The only upside is the drinks are cheap and the youths of Kettering have most definitely worked that out and the lack proper checks of ID. Throughout the game there was serveral what I can only describe as youths very drunk. I pointed my concern out to the staff and was once again rudely told they have all been through the correct ID procedure when for 2 hours we had seen the same slightly older member buying all the drinks for the crew. Will definitely take the small drive to Wellingborough than go to this place again.Visited March 2019Traveled with familyWritten March 17, 2019
- sarzit11530 contributionsEscape room enjoyable but mediocreCame for the escape room having done others at different places. If it is a new thing for you, you will enjoy it and have a great time, however in comparison to other escape venues it is lacklustre. There is no real atmosphere or theatrics and the room we did was fun but not particularly challenging. We managed it in an easy 39 minutes with no additional clues. Given that the room cost the same as others I have done which have had far more effort put into them, this isn't great value for money. However would be good do do with children as it is not scary, dark or too difficult and it always feels good to beat the clock.Visited May 2017Traveled with friendsWritten May 13, 2017
- mairead s3 contributionsWheelchair unfriendlyThis was the first time I visited Kettering New York Thunder bowl, with my friend who is in a wheelchair. I was shocked from the start when my friend had to go around the side to get into the place, (there are no signs to say how wheelchair users get into the place) but also had no way of telling any staff that she was at the fire exit door, and to be allowed to gain entry. After gaining entry I was then again shocked how wheelchair unfriendly the premises are, we were allocated in lane 13, which was a good job because this is as far my friend could get in her chair. On wanting to order drinks for the family, again I was extremely shocked that my friend could not actually get to the bar, or to the downstairs food area to order, when you are in a wheelchair!! No ramp access. I had to go and do this for her, even though my friend is capable of doing this. I had to ask the member of staff 3 times, to get a ramp so my friend could actually get to play, even though we had booked and they knew we had a wheelchair user in the party. Again on leaving the building we had to seek permission to get the fire door open to be allowed out. It's a shame, I felt my friend had to be treated completely different to how I and the other party members, just because the lack of access of getting in and out, and within the building. For this day and age, it's quiet unacceptable to be allowed to have to be treated like that; very degrading and humiliating. I think it could be something management should consider of what improvements could be made to treat everyone equally, maybe put yourself (if not already) in a wheelchair and enter the building with your family and friends, and see how different you are made to feel and it's not because the lack of space in the premises, it's just badly designed at present.Visited March 2016Traveled with friendsWritten March 28, 2016

Car park is in a sorry state, full of massive potholes.Wasnt very busy, around 6pm but found it rather expensive. Two games certainly doesnt last long between two players so decided to play a couple of frames of pool upstairs. The table we were given looked as if it had the same cloth on it when it was installed. Full of pinholes and stains. "Ill take a look" said the lad at the kiosk when i returned the balls after telling him about the state of it. Bet its still the same 6 months down the line. Place could do with a general tidy and in house cleaning. Male toilets! well ill say no more but you need wellies when entering them as floor is always awash. If its just bowling you looking for and a pint then its suffice, as its looking rather tired now.Visited October 2013Traveled with familyWritten November 6, 2013

I think it could be something management should consider of what improvements could be made to treat everyone equally, maybe put yourself (if not already) in a wheelchair and enter the building with your family and friends, and see how different you are made to feel and it's not because the lack of space in the premises, it's just badly designed at present.

Food was a joke.
Nachos was recommended by staff.
It was pityful.
Just a real insult.
Not filling. No flavour. A plastic tray with dry Nachos. Two dips, one meant to be salsa, the other yellow gloop... trying it's hardest to be a cheese sauce.
This falls very, very short of meeting any obligations, under the trade discription act.
It seem to us, that they really do not care about customers.

Booked a lane for 5.30 arrived on time and asked if we could add more people on our lane which was no problem to the staff at all!!....we had a couple of drinks from the bar which were all as expected and then played 1 game of bowling with 4 adults and 2 children. The atmosphere was good, not too busy or quiet.
If I was to complain about anything it would be that the ladies toilets didn’t seem very clean...they smelled of urine although looked ok....not sure on the gents so can’t comment on them....
Other than that a great hour or so entertainment!!

What an awful experience tonight. Manager downright rude, confrontational and aggressive. Will not be going back that’s for sure. Staff are clearly petrified of even giving out the managers name.
