This pub has gone through various iterations during my time in the village: it was always our post-Pantomime stop years ago. I'm happy that is now a friendly family-run local again.
Claire and Chris took it on last Spring and have been building up it's profile. They host darts, gigs and the local Braunston Bakes are there once a month on a Saturday morning.
With no kitchen (at the moment?) they work generously with the nearby chippie and are happy for you to eat your meal whilst enjoying a pint.

New landlord and lady Chris and Claire are breathing fresh air into this old village favourite - as always, Chris keeps a good cellar and a welcoming smile behind the bar.

The pub has recently been taken over by new owners and has since improved massively. Clean and tasty beer, good look and feel to the pub and a very friendly atmosphere!

I used t visit here a few times a week. t was never the cleanest of places, but it had a good atmosphere, and staff were freindly. The new landlord took over a few years ago, and I`ve only been in 3 times since, and only for convenience. Never made to feel welcome, landlord is most miderable person I have ever met, beer is bad, and they have now even stopped serving food. Avoid!

Called for a pint and was made to feel most unwelcome, thought I would try a pint anyway and was served the most rancid Pedigree I have ever had the misfortune to taste ! I All other were off and it appeared the landlady could not be bothered to change them, instead spent her time sitting on a stool doodling. Very poor not recommended.
