Lovely park, shame about the cafe staff
Sep 2021 • Family
Lovely, clean park with a great outdoor play area. Unfortunately the customer service at the cafe lacked charm and friendliness and the ability to smile. When I asked for toppings on my children’s milkshake I was rudely told that they were “too busy”. This is the second time this week that I have ordered food and drinks and walked away feeling very disappointed and annoyed. Next time I will take my own drinks and packed lunch to the park.

wellbeing in a nutshelll
Aug 2021
It is always lovely to visit our local country and it is great for your wellbeing. As as the lovely cafe and reservoir you can walk round there is the wonderful play area for the children. I love just to sit and look at the lake and spot the birds coming to the reservoir followed by an ice cream or cuppa and something to eat. Great place to bring a dog too. Sadly our dog Jenny passed away and so that is a void but doesnt stop ue enjoying this wonderful park

Lovely park ruined by almost unavoidable parking fines
Apr 2021
Please be aware that this park (although lovely when there) is deliberately operating a parking system to maximise fines payable to West Northamptonshire Council. None of the parking meters accept notes, cards, online or phone payments. Unless you have exactly £2 in cash with you, you will be fined before you have a chance to get change from the cafe (a short walk away, but within 10 minutes you can be given a £50 penalty charge). Conveniently, when you get a parking fine, there are a multitude of ways to pay it (card, phone, online, cash by post....). Disgusted by this practice and lack of fair response to appeals when a valid permit was brought as soon as change was sought from the cafe. Please be warned of these practices.

Pleasant.
May 2021
Cycling around the lake was pleasant but not particularly taxing as the path was very busy. The car park has a height restriction so please bare this in mind if you have roof mounted bike racks.

Best breakfast baps in Northamptonshire if not the East Midlands.
Apr 2021
Fantastic breakfast baps. Great bacon, sausage and a just runny egg in a soft bap. Believe me the best you will find within 20 miles. Forget the walk enjoy the food.

It's a local walk, that I enjoy.
Apr 2021
I really like the country park walk, lots of dogs, so if you don't like dogs, I would steer clear. The park is great for children, no dogs allowed in the playground area, yet lots of families are out with their children and their dogs. I would not suggest tying your dog to the playground fence, especially in these times. I find the staff at the cafe, grumpy and the food less than desirable. We had bacon baops, very dry and not good value.

Certainly through lock down, people have been having takeaway drinks, walking around the resevoir and discarding their waste, as there are no bins, so inevitably this ends up in the fields or water. Some opt to use the dog bins - encouraging dog walkers to dispose of their waste on the floor near the designated bins, at best.

In an area next to the waters edge, and such a nice park, why is the cafe not more environmentally freindly with their packaging. We were served bacon baps in polystyrene packaging, and why are there not recycling bins, for these and for the cans, and plastic bottles? Another time, they were wrapped in tin foil. Service is slow, and they rarely have appointed staff for just icecream, and soft drinks.

We produce waste, but give us the option to dispose of it correctly, the place would be a lot tidier. I'm really not a supporter of the take your waste home, and I am sure that in the long run, it costs much more, than servicing dedicated bins.

Covid19 walk
Mar 2021
We love coming here and it's a shame our dog had to be put down. It was great just to be outdoors with this superb attraction. Great when the cafe is open. P,entry of seats to admire the reservoir. A must come attraction. Roll on covid19 free zone

Nice park, shame about the weather
Dec 2020
We chose this park as a mid point for families to gather and exchange presents prior to Christmas. Sadly we chose a very wet day, However we were able to spend time together and in the less wet times walk beside the lake. The café was open for take-away and we made use of this, the prices being reasonable and there was a little cover to shelter while we ate and drank. Despite the rain and mud the littlest of the group enjoyed the play area. Parking cost is reasonable, especially if planning an all day stay. Overall we liked what we saw and would love to come back again on a dry day to explore further.

No warning signs!
Nov 2020 • Solo
I am a regular visitor to the park to walk my dogs round up untill today it was one of our fave walks.
They have been resurfacing the footpath all the way round the park , there are no signs to say it's not possible to walk all the way round due to the work .we walked most of the way round only to find the last few hundred yard closed of with no detour , so I tried another way only to get lost on a muddy wasteland with no way out .
Surely they could have put some signs up on the car park ticket machines warning that you cant make it all the way round .
