I nice stroll along the beach and promenade at Filey on New Year’s Day. Weather was kind and the dogs loved it (and people loved them which was nice)

Didn’t find a coffee shop open where we walked, the one thing I’d have changed.

Seemed a nice place and must go back for longer 🙂👍

Many dog walkers on this beach but they are responsible people picking up after them.
The tide goes in and out through the day, best to take your dog early morning when its gone out, but be aware of the tide coming in, ask the locals for that information.
It comes right up to the sea wall, its lovely to watch.
You can go one way or the other into a small area, where you can have a snack or drinks or buy buckets and spades. The RNLI store their lifeboat at theend of the beach. I went for a weekend in November 21 and the weather was okay, not cold.
Just take a hat and warm clothing just in case. It can get windy. In the summer it can get packed, so parking on the front is at a premium. There is a 1,000 car park in the town, but I never found it, once parked on the front dont move it until you want to leave, you will not get back in. There are so many dog walkers pulling in and never move. BEWARE !!!!
So relax and stop off for a drink and some fish and chips on the end of the beach...ENJOY..

Great beach with plenty to do for young families. The beach was clean and tidy. Good signage as well. Worth a visit. Great for a long walk.

As anyone in the know will tell you, Filey beach is the best beach on the planet and has been consistently so,since Adam was a lad. Certainly through my entire lifetime. Why? You might ask. Well, it runs from the start of the Brigg, in a perfect crescent for just over five miles to the start of the chalk cliffs, leading up to Flamborough, where it turns into large pebbles before disappearing into the sea. The sand is nice and firm and flat, making it easy to walk on. As an infant, my parents would push me in my pram from Reighton Gap to Filey and back. It is an eight mile round trip and could just be done, if you set off as the tide was going out; you would just get back before the tide was high again. You can't do that on the soft fine sand, in those so called paradise places. It is much better for the kids to play on and makes great sand castles. What more can I say? In the immortal words of Tina Turner; it's simply the best.

Filey beach is vast. It is clean and flat to walk on once you reach it from usually a steep slope. It must be dog friendly as there were a lot of dogs around.

It’s a lovely circular walk from the countryside car park, along the beach, up through the woods and then through the town past the church. We had fish and chips at the cafe at the far end and they were delicious. I’m glad that we are early as walking back through the town there were several queues at places to eat. This is one of my favourite places to visit.

Beautiful sandy and soooo long. Lots of dog walkers. Great to see the RLNI boat being launched for a training exercise. Always support them.

I love visiting Filey Beach. It's beautifully clean and unspoilt. However for a seaside town it is very annoying when the cafes and tea rooms all close at 3pm!
There are always lots of people walking around looking for somewhere to eat and drink at this time so why don't they stay open later? I've noticed this even during the summer season. Come prepared with a flask and sandwiches!

A beautiful place. Unspoilt, serene and lovely place to walk, talk and enjoy the beach, hiking, town and gardens. Any individual, couple and family will enjoy the town and all it has to offer.
