We visited this charming church early on a Tuesday morning and found it open and a very welcoming atmosphere. There was no one at the church but my wife and I both felt that we were welcome. Some interesting artefacts.
To complete this rural picture we had to wait for some sheep to make their way up the path to their field.
Churches are not left open where we live. So all in all a nice hour.

This church is worthy of a visit for the Jervaulx rood screen alone. However, there were many other features of this lovely church which were notable, especially the war casualties remembraces. Touching and humbling.

St.Andrew's church is situated in a beautiful part of upper Wensleydale next to the river Ure.The church is impressive and the location stunning.Inside the church are to be found high quality Victorian stained glass windows but you must be sure to see the stunning Jervaulx Screen and vicar's stall dating from c1500 and the stone redos copy of Da Vinci's Last Supper.
They also had several drawings from children about the last war soldiers and if you take the time to read them they are very moving for such youngsters.,Red poppies well display, nice to see that some community still respect our arm forces. The feel of this church is very welcoming and the grave yard worth a visit with so many very very very old graves. WORTH A VISIT

The reason to visit this church, which is very closely located to the upper falls, is the Jerveaux abbey root screen, made in 1500´s and saved from destruction in 1534 by being transported here. No longer used as a root screen, but rather as part of the choir. The church also has a very Victorian font, and some nice stained windows. Inside the church there is quite a bit of information available.

Lots of stained glass here and worth a visit... they have a rare screen (I've forgotten the name) but it's a beautiful thing!

Beautiful old church surrounded by well tended cemetery that was covered in daffodils and small yellow flowers. Beautiful in the late evening light.

We went here after visiting Jervaulx Abbey to see the famous wooden screen. Legend has it that the monks carried it all the way from Jervaulx after the dissolution of monasteries. It is indeed very beautiful. Would recommend combining this with Jervaulx as only 20 min by car. Would also suggest Middleham and / or Bolton Castle both are nearby and interesting. If heading back south go via Grassington - lovely drive through upper Wharfedale

Lovely old church located just below the car park for the Aysgarth falls and on our Sunday morning visit to the falls we heard the church bells and clearly this church has a decent congregation. set in very large church garden area overlooking the Aysgarth falls woodland with a large cemetery and very peaceful. The church has a lovely architecture and if you are visiting the falls it is well worth stopping at the church for a quick look and great photo shoot. Enjoy.

A relative us burried there we believe. JOHN BLADES. are records kept on where his grave might be in the cemetery. He died in the 1952. Thanks a lot.

I was impressed by how tidy the graveyards are kept here by grazing sheep to keep the grass down. The graveyards around the church are probably smaller than a football pitch so even if you can’t find who keeps records a couple of hours looking around would probably find your relative. Lovely area for a day out as well

How many bells in the tower and what chimes are used by the clock (e.g. Westminster)?
