Still the best
Sep 2021
Laurence has always maintained a good selection of quality antiques in his main show room with interesting items also available out the back. My parents were regular clients and my glass collection has benefited greatly over the decades courtesy of Mr Shaw with this visit providing two excellent quality specimens from the 18th and 19th centuries. I also bumped into another regular dealer from Norfolk, looking for items to sell on, which is always a good sign of overall value. Horncastle is known in the trade for having a good number of antique shops for a small rural town, Shaw's has always maintained a high standard and I highly recommend a visit. Best selection of quality in town.
Aug 2020
Laurence has been in the trade a long time and has, in my opinion, the finest selection of well chosen antiques in a town brimming with antique shops. I have bought some fine examples of 18th and 19th Century glass over the years along with similar aged pewter, an unusual iron pig feeding trough, some good vintage books on antique glass and the odd interesting Treen items. You can park on the street outside, entry is into the main shop following through to an outside area for the more agricultural (waterproof) items and on to the outer sheds with more eclectic items that are generally cheaper than the main shop. If you are short on time this is certainly one to visit. During the Covid pandemic the shop is open more than usual as none of the major Fairs are on, once they resume you ought to check business hours. Laurence is very personable and like most dealers prepared to negotiate within reason. I highly recommend this emporium.

Well presented
Dec 2018 • Business
We recently visited Laurence Shaw Antiques whilst on an antiques buying trip. The shop was well presented and well lit. A friendly and helpful welcome. A good selection of retro and antiques and well priced. Will definitely be going back.

Proper shop with interesting range

Laurence Shaw has been in the business 50 years, is hugely knowledgeable and has a fabulous range of interesting antiques and collectables. Better quality than most other places in Horncastle.

Easy to find and close to the town centre
Oct 2017 • Family
We spent a long time in here as there were so many interesting bits to look at. We enjoyed looking at things we knew we were unlikely to buy but were fascinating. There is a trail leaflet which gives a good idea of what is on offer in the town and this is available in most of the antique shops. This shop had some true antiques as well as some interesting items which I would consider more 'collectables. Worth a visit.

Lots to See
Apr 2017 • Couples
Visited Horncastle and followed the Antiques trail leaflet which has most of the antique and vinatge shops in Horncastle on it. You can pick one up from some of the antique shops.
Laurence Shaw Antiques is just up from the main shopping street and has a large room at the front with cabinets as well as items on display and then you can go out the back in to another area that has more vintage type things to browse.
Easy to walk round.

Short Walk from the Centre
May 2016 • Couples
This antiques shop is located on the road out of Horncastle and only a short walk from the Market Place. If you pick up a Horncastle Antiques & Collectables Trail leaflet from the library or most of the antiques shops it is listed with a map. There are plenty of antiques and cabinets to view and easy to walk round. Staff are wiling to show you anything you need a closer look at. There are a few parking spaces at the front but these do get busy.
