It is hard to say why we are drawn to this place but it is probably 2 reasons - the cheap prices and the excellent tasting Bombardier cask ale. If we want a cheap tea out we call in and use the corner lounge bar. The pub itself has recently undergone a modest amount of redecoration but still do not expect high class surroundings ... nor high class prices. My wife and I can have a tasty all day breakfast or maybe fish and chips along with a pint and orange juice for around £12 - cheaper than a takeaway. Unfortunately they often have football on the TV's but despite me hating that in a pub it is not intrusive. It is never full - just enough quiet people to create an atmosphere. The service is always friendly and pleasant and quick so we call in for a quick tea and a pint once or twice a month.

Been / visited a number of times when working in the area . Pub grub at the prices which is in line with other local pubs . Football is shown here plus pool table. Staff always helpful. Worth a visit ....

I am absolutely disgusted in the service we received from multiple staff last night and the way our complaint was handled.
Me and 1 friend came in at approximately 10pm and proceeded to the bar.

A girl with pink hair immediately began to question us about a girl we were with (we came in on our own- I was visiting a friend from uni and do not know anybody else in cleethorpes that I could have been with) but didn't serve us straight away she just ignored us. She was extremely rude for no reason and made it blatantly obvious when she was talking to other staff that she was talking about us.

After 10 mins we finally got our drinks (vodka cranberry and vodka lime soda) I didn't see any vodka in the glass before the cranberry went in and there was none put in afterwards, and there and there was no vodka in the lime soda!) we went back to the bar and put our drinks down after taking a sip

We approached a blonde girl and said there was no vodka in the drinks.... And she mumbled something and walked off
We then had to flag down the girl with the pink hair and told her- for her to reply that she had put vodka in the drinks- she tested my drink and basically called me a liar and walked off

I then flagged down a male staff member who appeared to be cleaning and asked for a manager- he said he didn't know if there was one and walked off

It took 10/15 mins and 4 different staff members, and me and my friend getting very angry for someone to properly acknowledge us and offer us another drink
And whilst these drinks were being made the girl with the pink hair in front of us repeating ' I made the drinks I put vodka in them'

I DO NOT appreciate being called a liar a lot more than I don't appreciate waiting 15 minutes to speak to a manager after 3 different members of staff ignored us
This is absolutely disgusting customer service! I haven't never been treated with such disrespect. She was rude from the start with no apparent reason, spoke to other staff members about us and then all staff ignored out complaint and refused to get us a manager. It was also obvious whilst all the staff were ignoring us that nobody on the side of the bar we were on were getting served because they were avoiding us complaining because we were very angry by this point.

Will not be returning to this place. And I think you need to re train all of your bar staff on customer service - apart from the lovely guy who eventually acknowledged us last night and got us fresh drinks

I don't know why I love this pub so much but it never disappoints. My fiancée was born and raised in Cleethorpes and although we now live in Gloucestershire we visit his family here. Maybe it's the change from £10 for 4 pints of really very good lager-serious bug bear when a pub can't serve lager on tap without it being flat or tasting of line cleaner-maybe it's the fact that the atmosphere is always good and the staff are friendly and efficient, maybe it's that the karaoke singers are actually pretty good, or it could have been the fact that we were able to buy an inflatable sheep called 'Lady Ba Ba' from the vending machine in the gents? No idea. But I'll keep on coming back!

If you want to a cheap and excellent quality meal while on holiday then try this town centre pub. Kids meals are only £1.50 and would've filled me up. Adults meals are 2 for 7.50 ish. The bill for 5 adults and 1 kids meal came to £21 Inc drinks. We went back again a few days later and it was even better. Give it a whirl if you're in the area.
