41 Club is a UK association of ex Round Tablers. And so it was that as my penultimate monthly even as Current Chairman, I organised a trip to Belvoir Brewery for a merry band of 9 +driver. We received a friendly welcome from Colin, ably assisted by Michael (an ex pub landlord) behind the bar. Colin is clearly passionate about his business as a brewer and purveyor of great beers! After an interesting visit 'behind the scenes', coupled an informative talk by Colin on his "career in brewing', and the processes and materials involved in the craft of brewing, we retired to the lovely bar / restaurant to sample Colin's wares, and enjoy some delightful local produce as part of our" Tour Package". More beers followed before we poured ourselves on to our mini bus, for the drive home. An excellent evening out, which thoroughly recommended to beer buff. Or just take a lovely drive out for a light snack, a glass of beer, and be sure to take some bottles away with you to be enjoyed at home! "Thank you Colin and Michael" for a thoroughly enjoyable and informative evening!

We visited for a tour and had lunch as part of a trip from Leicester. The Good. 1. The tour is really excellent. Apparently you need to book ahead but when we turned up the the owner and another staff member gave us a 30 minute tour of the facility with 3 samples included and no charge. The staff were friendly, witty and knowledgeable. 2. The beer samples were a good size and tasted good. 3. The building is on the edge of an industrial area but is well decorated with lots of drink memorabilia and a bar. 4. We had lunch and the menu had a good range of staples like burgers. I had the Ploughmans with a Melton Mowbray pie and local cheese. All the food was good and the service was efficient. The Bad. 1. Not sure how strict the policy on needing to book is but would suggest doing so. Overall A good way to spend a few hours if staying in Leicester. Good tour, excellent beer and good place for lunch.

Popped in on route to our weekend hotel break. Lovely ale house.Tastefully decorated. Lots of brewing memorabilia. We were hoping to have lunch there but unfortunately that wasn't on offer at 1pm on a Saturday. Hubby enjoyed his pint of Old Dalby. Shame about the lunch as we had planned to stay for the afternoon.

Nice little Micro Brewery on the edge of Leicestershire/Nottinghamshire border north of Melton Mowbray. Dropped in for a couple of lunchtime drinks with friends. Great choice of own beers with others and wines and spirits available. Brewery tours are available by booking ahead and samples go down well! Shop sells seperate bottled ales made in the brewery or prepacked mixed choices as gifts along with 2litre carry out plastic bottles of your favourite choice. Well worth the visit when in area.

Belvoir Brewary Ale House is no longer serving evening meals or Sunday Lunches. I think the owner has lost the plot as Sunday roasts were so popular .
