Small information centre
Sep 2019 • Couples
Heysham Heritage Centre is in the centre of the village. Run by volunteers there’s plenty of information about the local area. Worth a visit if you’re in Heysham

A hidden gem
Jun 2018 • Couples
We went on a Monday on our way to the ferry terminal. We didn’t expect much but the exhibits were well thought out and interesting and the two volunteers were so friendly and happy to spend time talking with us. It’s somewhere we are already planning to go back to next year

Run by enthusiastic volunteers who are happy to spend time with you. Something of interest for most people who want to know about the area

Tiny but lovely

Run by volunteers who are lovely to talk to this little well presented attraction is well worth a visit.
It's free but well worth making a donation to keep this little gem open.

Small and opening times vary according to volunteer availability out of season
Apr 2018 • Friends
Although small, it is informative and interesting and the volunteers are very friendly and happy to chat about the village. It has lots of information available whilst open every weekend in season, it is worth checking whether it is open out of season as this depends on the availability of volunteers.
We were really lucky as it was a Thursday but it was open and having spoken to 3 different volunteers, they all provided great information, not only about the village but about the Morecambe area in general.

Well worth an hour of your time
Apr 2018
Visited recently whilst on holiday in the area. We hadn't seen it before and thought it was, new but the very friendly volunteer on duty explained that out of season it only opens at weekend.
There were so many old photographs but I'm not going to give any hints as that would spoil your enjoyment and amazement.

A Great Asset for Heysham!
Jun 2017 • Family
Having been brought up in Heysham during the 1950's I remember the heydays of Heysham Head, the busy docks, Granny's nettle beer, St Peters Church, the Tea Gardens and the old weighing machine.
All of these memories were brought back when I visited the new Heysham Heritage Centre, a lovely building bursting with old photos, relics and souvenirs.
The assistant was very knowledgeable and helpful, an attraction definitely worth exploring when you visit Heysham
*** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ***

Friendly and informative

Small but perfectly formed. This free to enter information centre is an ideal as an introduction to this interesting corner. Great coastal walks and the churches are worth a visit. The centre itself has information and old photos so what this once thriving resort was. Still a great location and on a clear day as we had its worth going for the views alone. I think it is staffed by very friendly and knowledgable volunteers. Certainly worth a visit when in the area.
