What a brilliant family day we had last Monday. We also took our dog Mickey along. This was a 60th birthday present and on my to do tick list. Before we were allowed to start Lucien was professional, very clear with his instructions and funny. The weather was beautiful, we took a picnic along and had lots of laughs. Can't wait to do it again.

We have just spent a lovely day on the Leeds-Liverpool canal on our self steer narrowboat with our two young grandsons and their parents. I was very impressed by the organisation and the friendly and helpful owner Lucien. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Also thanks to the ladies on the double decker bus cafe who provided lunch mid way through our adventure. I would highly recommend the whole experience!

Fabulous day on Mirlees, booked by our “children” to celebrate our retirement. Party of 10 ranging in age from 4 months to 64. Lucien gave really clear instructions and advice; he was so calm and funny that we were quite relaxed although it was our first narrowboat experience. Took a picnic with us and spent the day cruising along the canal, stopped at the malt house pub for a drink, everyone who wanted to had a go at steering and the whole day was enjoyed by all 3 generations- 4 month old maybe slightly less! I’d definitely recommend as a great day out for the whole family.

We had a great day on the Leeds Liverpool canal cruising on Ruston. Excellent instructions from staff at Ellerbeck Narrowboats. This is a great way to view the lovely local countryside, we went in the Leeds direction first as far as Johnson's Hillock locks. Had a picnic here, then cruised back stopping at Fredericks for an Ice Cream and then on to White Bear Marina. The boat is well equipped with everything you need and it was good fun sharing the captains duties. This is a good value for money days activity where you can get friends and family together.

We were welcomed so well by Lucien who gave us some clear instructions. Off we went on the blue Mirlees boat - lovely route, places to stop off, boat well equipped - great fun even though it rained a little! Thank you! Highly recommend for a fun day out for all the family, young and old alike!
