We always pop in here for a drink before going to a restaurant when we holiday in Whitstable each year. It is a great pub and we are never disappointed. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is jolly! Sad to see the resident dog no longer on his seat this year. We missed him!

Visiting whitstable for the first time. DOCH is a great pub. Great drinks and service and an even greater DJ. We have really enjoyed it and we definitely recommend it. p and k

This place really lets down the area. Unlike the other local pubs who are friendly and welcoming, this place is another level of bad service! It lacks atmosphere and I was ill the next day after drinking here - we figured it must have been a dodgy pint as I only had one drink here. The whole place stinks of... More

STAY CLEAR. Spend your money elsewhere in Whitstable. The landlady was like a screaming banshee and amazingly rude and threatening to us for no reason. They were closing up yesterday at 7pm (bank holiday weekend on Sunday) and we were in here having a quick drink before going for dinner at Samphire. She approached our table and just flipped and... Good choice of drinks and nice atmosphere and service. Centrally located and friendly - a good boozer. Bigger than it looks!!!

Went to the Dukes last night with 8 of my friends, we are all local girls and have been here many times before. NEVER AGAIN. The management spoke to us like we were something he stepped in. I have never felt so intimidated and threatened in my home town before. We were asked to leave and never return. Not one... More

Do not come to this pub, never felt so unwelcomed!! Atmosphere is awful. Best to avoid and go to other pubs in the area, which are welcoming.

I’ve never been made to feel more unwelcome at a pub than I was at the Duke. A few gentleman friends and I were in there on a Saturday night at around 7ish for a couple of drinks. There was some laughing and some joking amongst us but nothing particularly rambunctious. All was going rather swimmingly until about 45 minutes... More

Visited on 10 September to see Juan Martin (top Flamenco guitarist). The venue was very small and intimate, with candles on every table and dotted around the room. Lovely ambience. Music was amazing. Will definitely keep an eye out and return.
