About
Launched in April 2015 we offer sedate river cruises and rowing boat hire. We are open for trips Mid March to end Oct and the rowing boats May to Oct please see the website for actual dates and times. Based at the Big Bridge in the High Street the electric launch "Enid May" runs trips in the Tonbridge area and is the ideal platform for photographing the area and the wildlife. The boat will seat up to 12 passengers comfortably and is safe for kids. Why not enjoy a relaxing one hour river trip or book for a private "voyage" either way you get close to nature and can glean some of the areas history from the skipper before finally returning to your starting point by the castle in the centre of town with lots of options to eat all nearby.

We had my daughters hen party part one today. Isaac was our skipper and he was amazing. We saw a Kingfisher and Rylan from BBC Radio 2 phoned to surprise my daughter and play her a request. It was sunny for half of the trip then the heavens opened but it was a fantastic experience. Thank you!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly for our dawn chorus experience. The whole thing was made very interesting by the very knowledgeable ecologist. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, or anyone who lives locally wanting to see a different side to Tonbridge. The free hot chocolate and biscuits were the icing on the cake! Glad we booked this, the 3:30am alarm clock was definitely worth it!

Totally enjoyed our trip down the Medway with Tonbridge River Boats. Our skipper Issac was very informative and knowledgeable about the town, its history and wildlife. It was a very relaxing way to spend an hour on a sunny afternoon. Highly recommend.

Excellent trip. Boat is very quiet ...........(same can't be said for families with unruly children with useless, inconsiderate parents).
Very pleasant captain. Good value trip, highly recommended. Good trip for children during school holidays/ weekends.

Myself and my husband went on the bat experience trip which was a 2 hour trip starting at sunset. We were given bat detectors and shown how to use them along the way. The trip was absolutely wonderful, our guide, Simon was so knowledgeable and full of fascinating information about the species of bat we encountered along the way. The skipper was friendly and competent and the boat was very quiet, allowing us to enjoy the sounds of birds and the water. We were given hot chocolate and biscuits on the way back. Tonbridge river trips communication from booking onwards and handling of a weather related reschedule was brilliant. I cannot recommend this cosy, educational and atmospheric experience highly enough and will definitely be booking the dawn chorus experience in the near future.

lovely 50 minute afternoon boat trip up the river with myself and my 4 year old grandson. The lovely lady boat driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave my grandson a worksheet of things to look out for along our journey which he could tick off and food to give to the swan and ducks we saw along the way. Inexpensive and very relaxing. It is suitable for little children and older people , comfortable seating with cushions and there is a roof if you want to sit in the shade.
Worth the money and planning to take my dad (in his 80's) .
If you're looking for something to do, its a must. Follow up with lunch in the high street is a great way to finish the day off or visit the castle as well.

A wonderful experience, travelling slowly upriver at dawn.. we started in the dark and saw the full moon going down, and then the sun coming up. The boat is electric so extremely quiet, but the number of birds singing at that time is incredible. We had a very knowledgeable guide, who gave good descriptions to help us pick out the various bird songs ('squeaky shoes' was one!). A magical experience, highly recommended.

We hired the boat to scatter our parents ashes along the river near where they used to live. The captain helped us do this in a thoughtful way, providing information when we wanted it, but keeping quiet when we needed that space. Everything we wanted from the experience.
His 'assistant' was also very helpful in providing detail on the area while we waited.

Can you hire rowing boats out, if so do you provide life jackets. I spent time in the 70s on this river swimming and boating. Loved it.

Hi
Could you let me know the maximum number of people you can take on a river trip and the cost of the trip per head. Also, do you do trips late afternoon/evening i.e. after work as we are thinking about this for a social event.
Thanks
Jane Boorman
