Worth doing if you want to know more about the town. I've lived here 37 years and still found out things about Tonbridge that I didn't know. Lots to see in what is quite a small area. Youngsters might find the subterranean tunnel overly scary.

The audio tour of the gatehouse and surrounding areas is superb. Really interesting and informative. It gave a good feel of how the castle was in its heyday. Loved it

Whilst on holiday in Kent we had based ourselves in Tonbridge and felt we couldn’t stay and not visit the castle. Obviously things are very different at the moment with Covid 19 and we had to pre book. However we had no problem booking on the day and it was all very well organised. As it happened we had the whole place to ourselves so was great for taking photos. We opted to use the audio tour as I’m never very good at following written instructions and also my husband is a bit of a history buff and loves to obtain as much information as possible. Anyway we both found it interesting and for me it was just about the right amount of information I found it very interesting and didn’t switch off which I tend to do if there is too much info. Afterwards we did the tour outside which in fairness you can do for free but if you hang onto the audio sets it gives you a bit more information. It took us about 1 hour 30mins with the outside. Personally I would recommend the audio tour as I think you will miss out if you didn’t do it as there isn’t much info around the castle. Throughly enjoyed our time and it’s a cheap visit.

Despite suffering from indigestion, caused by an unexpected rushed lunch, myself and a work mate ‘decided’ to go to Tonbridge.

Admittedly, it was the first time I had seen Tonbridge, by day - rather than, of course, night, when I’ve been diverted off the motorway, tens of times, when it has been closed off, due to apparent works - One of the many ‘magical mystery tours’ one often, is so so privileged to experience.

This is a fairly small castle in size, yet has a fairly interesting history. Entry fee was cheap, and you get offered an audio guide.

Staff were pleasant and very welcoming - credit to them.

The wax work models were quite cool, and we felt we were extras in Vincent Price’s The House of Wax.

Overall, certainly worthy of an investigation.

A fab place to visit and learn about history . The Castle
Takes you back in history and you and your family can learn about how people lived and eat I. The past. The people made of wax and the taking machine help you learn about the past

Wow what a fine! We were on holiday in Kent and decided to visit this castle as we were staying in Tonbridge.
The castle is breathtakingly beautiful as are the gardens that surround it. It is easy to book via telephone. Card only payments are taken on arrival. The ladies who work in the tourist information office are really friendy and helpful.
The audio tour takes about an hour and is really interesting. Lot of things to look at and the audio guide is very informative.
Easy to find ( just off the High Street in Tonbridge) and easy and cheap to park right by the castle.
After the tour, you can enjoy the gardens or take a walk along the river right next to the castle. All very enjoyable in the wonderful hot weather we experienced when we were on holiday.
