    Day out
Went to this pub for lunch today as a treat for my birthday and was not very impressed unfortunately, Not usually one to complain but for what we ordered the quality and quantity was very disappointing,! We both ordered the rib eye steak which was very fatty (i left half of mine). The steak came with a large mushroom, 1 tomato and a small portion of fries. We expected a lot more for our money considering the meal was £25 each!! You can get a steak at the Harvester which includes fries, mushrooms, peas, a tomato and onion rings for £15. I would just like to add that we cannot fault the service that we received today nor the ambiance of the put!

    Great pub professional service
Went here for a few beers on a Saturday afternoon. My first proper visit since the refurbishment and lockdown. My reservations about prices going up because of it being taken over by hush heath winery were quickly put to rest as all beers were very reasonable. Staff were very professional, hard working, polite and engaging. Others in the pub were eating and there with families and from what I saw the staff went out of their way to make sure they were happy and enjoying their food. Talking about the food it looked very nice. Top end pub food presented very well. I'll definitely have to eat here soon as other friends have said it's worth a visit for food. The pub refurbishment itself is subtle but for the better. Still retaining the character of the building but opening up the pub a bit and tidying everything up. The toilets have also had a much needed refurbishment. All in all I'll definitely be going back and would have to nit pick to fault the place.

    A bit disappointing
Lovely traditional English pub where dogs are welcome in the bar area. We had the sunday roast lunch but were not that impressed. Pork was very oily/fatty. Vegetables were too pretentious - how about doing normal carrots, broccoli etc. We were never asked if our meal was ok, whereas every other table was. Waited ages to get our plates cleared and to be offered the dessert menu. Then waited even longer to get our desserts served which were extremely small and over priced. Probably won't return.

If you like real ale steer clear of this place. Barman was rude and did not know his ales. As someone who enjoys real ales I asked for a pint of golden ale by Timothy Taylor's. Being a good yorkshire brew, it is unusual to find it so far down south, I asked him to serve it properly via a sparkler on the tap. In a blunt manner I was told none of his ales were served with a sparkler. I tried to explain that in certain parts of the country every ales is served this was but more importantly Timothy Taylor's is meant to be served this way. This went over his head and I was given a very rude look. I would like to know what the brewery would think about this and the fact that the customer should have their ale served however the want, not dictated by a barman whim. To add insult later on we were asked to move table because of the quiz very rudely by the landlord. Customer service was awful and I recommend anyone visiting tenterden to give this place a miss and goto the other pubs instead which were much more welcoming.

Been coming for some time now and the staff have upgraded and are bloody wonderful. Same can’t be said about the toilets. Regularly been served by a polite young boy called Nancy. Bar man with the receding hairline (Charlene) has also been very pleasant and happy to help. Couple of staff members are a bit odd but it’s a quirky place and just love being in there. Food is banging although the burger relish isn’t what it used to be but a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Bar workers who I think are called Alfina and Molly always uphold high levels of politeness and are happy to do whatever is asked and nothing seems to much. Food overall good and beer selections are ideal. Landlord George is a good crack and remains professional and engages in conversations with public and can’t be faulted. Games selections are dead and could do with a fruity. A stand alone chess table would be perfect to finish it off however the over blinged Xmas tree prevents a safe place to play. Could do with a cocktail list of actual cocktails to liven up my lips on a Saturday however this isn’t an option. Overall great staff, nice building and will be great when the barn is open for dutty whining.

Having been here twice, this pub has a warm and cosy feeling, it is suitably dark with low ceilings, comfy chairs and wooden floors.
Very easy to be in and good to stop and read the paper…friendly and atmospheric...

Not sure which, as upon entering one Sunday afternoom in Decembe we were greeted by the sight of youngsters spread out on tables in both front bars either colouring, on Ipads, or generally making quite a noise, seemigly with no restraint from their overly indulgent mummies !
Needless to say we left after one drink as we noticed others doing and will be trying the newly refurbished 'White Lion' instead. A real shame as at other times its a really welcoming pub full of 'adults' !

Had a drink in here a couple of weeks ago and was served by Rosie. She was absolutely lovely and I had the most refreshing pint. Think I’ve found my new local! Thank you team Woolpack!

I had a beer here with a mate, recently, and the pub seemed bare and cold - wooden seats, wooden floors. Maybe it needed more people. I have had a beer here in summer and out in the street is OK but for whatever reason its a basic buy a drink experience. Given its central location and proximity to the large church you think they would work that angle and be more imaginative or cosmopolitan. I decided the Vine or the White Lion had a more welcoming and warm experience. Pity. If I had the license I'd make it more than beer, crisps or pork scratchings.

Admittedly, I've never been there when its full and I have never eaten there. I decided to go elsewhere for a meal after my beer. Pity, as I say it has so much potential going begging.

A good, old-fashioned pub with beamed ceilings, wooden floors and some barrels for tables. The staff are very attentive and helpful and the service is quick and efficient. There's a good choice of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. An added bonus is that it is dog friendly. I would certainly recommend The Woolpack to anyone looking for a drink in a friendly hostelry in Tenterden.

Good range of beers and the girl behind the bar let us try a couple before making our choice.

Quaint pub, nice real fire but no food on Mondays.

Service was friendly and welcoming.

Dog friendly.
