Well at least in the eyes of my 3 year old Daughter. This was our 2nd visit this year to see Thomas. Everything about the whole experience is fabulous. It starts walking up from the car park with "Daddy Daddy I can see Cranky" and continues with "Daddy looks there's Thomas" , "Daddy we're ridding on Annie and Claribel" ,... More

Wow! What a lovely review - you clearly enjoyed your visit to our 'Day out with Thomas' event! Our volunteer staff work very hard to bring the stories to life, so it's great to hear it worked well for our special little guests. We hope to see you again soon - perhaps on the Santa Specials at Christmas? More

Been here for a couple of different occasions. For the steam train alone is a good day, the cider festival is a brilliant atmosphere and the Pullman dining experience is amazing. The trains are beautiful and the dedication of all the (voluntary!!) staff is something to be admired. They are always welcoming, friendly and never stop!! Whatever the reason for... More

We have visited The Kent & East Sussex railway (incorporating a plough mans lunch) with a travel group on a number of occasions and each time the food has been good and the staff extremely efficient and courteous. All in all a most pleasant experience Sarah (Go Paul Group Travel)

Recently returned from a visit to the area we spent a pleasant day based around a return journey from Northiam to Tenterden. Parking was easy and free and the outward journey hauled by steam. At Tenterden we enjoyed refreshments and a visit around the museum. We then took a leisurely stroll over fields for about 80 mins to the next... More

Many thanks for your kind review - it sounds like you had a great day! The line passes through some beautiful countryside & our trains offer a great way to appreciate it, particularly if you suffer mobility issues. The Old Dairy Brewery is well worth visiting - don't forget our very own 'Levers Alone' ale, produced by the Rother Valley... More

While staying in Tenterden we visited this preserved steam railway. Unfortunately we didn't manage a journey on the steam train, but the diesel train took us to and from Bodiam Castle. It was an evocative journey through the lovely Kent countryside. Trains were manned mostly by retired train enthusiasts and there are plenty of steam engines and coaches in various... More

Went on the train from Bodiam to Tenterden. It is a great way to travel from one town to another, seeing the beautiful countryside. The train and carriages are very well kept and clean. There is lots of places to sit on the train. It's a brilliant way to experience travelling on a steam train. And all day ticket for... More

We paid our ticket price willingly and my Husband absolutely enjoyed the train journey, chugging along to Tenterden. The trolley service was good as was the refreshment carriage. A good afternoon out. However, this isn't the cheapest thing to do.

Many thanks for the review & glad you enjoyed your time with us. Steam trains (together with the 11 miles of track, 5 stations and workshops etc) are expensive to look after, but we try very hard to keep our fares affordable. We've a range of money saving offers, including 10% off our standard fares when you book in advance... More

Had a Pullman Sunday lunch and steam train ride. The volunteers were fantastic and the food was first class the chief produced food that was amazing and everything cooked on the train. The puddings were to die for. A very worthwhile treat.

Friends had booked us a ride on a steam train from Bodiam Castle to Tenterden and back again, with a cream tea on board the train. It was brilliant! Our table was reserved and we enjoyed our tea enormously. The train ride was marvellous, bringing back lots of memories of steam train journeys in our childhood. Ah, that smell! We... More
