Fabulous Micro Pub That Makes Even Strangers Feel At Home
As always made me feel welcome even though not a local made to feel like one. Good beer selection and good local feel. One of the best micro pubs in the country and worth the 8 hour trip to get there.

This a nice little pub just on the outskirts of Sittingbourne but close to the town and station. It is basically a one room bar but a round a microbrewery. You walk in sit down and the barman asks you what you want from the selection on the blackboard and goes to the back pours it and brings it to you. Although small it is a locals pub and we were made welcome. Added surprise was complimentary cheese and biscuits.

    Somewhere Different,
this is such a small bar but that gives it its friendly atnosphere, expect to be in everyones conversation and them to be in yours, its such fun. there are a limited number of reall ales and a couple fo ciders which regularly change, also limited wine selection Red or White :) Great prices, there is no bar as there is no room fo rit but there are bells on each table when you want a drink ring ans someone will come. no music or mobile phones allowed, bakc to a real pub with real conversation. fantastic

The Paper Mill is like an old pair of slippers You instantly feel comfortable in this cosy little nook.
Great selection of beers described by the most knowledgeable staff

But above and beyond all that is the fact that when you walk in here as a stranger you leave as a friend (well almost)

I think the word, ‘convivial’ sums up the experience you will enjoy here and I’ve yet to find another pub that do it as well as a the Paper Mill

But hey, don’t tell everyone! Keep if cosy

This place has been here for more than three years and I've only just found out about it!!!?? Oh The lost hopportunities😉 !
So let's start with the obvious... This is a micro pub... micro meaning small which aptly describes the single drinking room, but that's where the term micro ends! Everything else about the pub is enormous ( apart from the prices) . The personality is huge, the people who drink there are welcoming and know everyone else there without being the least bit clicky. ( we thoroughly enjoyed meeting regulars Mick, Tony and Andrew)
From the outside, the unassuming pub front may cause you to pass on by and head towards the brighter lights, the like of which you'll happily find in your local wetherspoons or vineyard... well if that's what you want ( loud music, teenagers and poor service) then keep going. If , on the other hand you want proper beer, proper conversation with new and interesting people, then give this place a go. On a side note dogs are welcome and there's a chippy next door if you fancy food with your beer.
Feeling like I have been well and truly initiated into this cracking establishment the one piece of advice I'll pass on is use the bell on the table ( you'll understand when you get there) don't go looking for the bar like me 😂😂😉. Now , how to work off that hangover....

Popped in after going to the SKLR Steam n Ale festival.A very nice drop of Goachers Mild and another bitter which I've forgotten (come on,it had been a long day!) later had me wishing I lived nearer so I could be a regular.Really welcoming, good company and great beer, not too many either just a good balance of all ale types.

If you want to visit a different kind of pub, then try a micropub. The papermill has a great atmosphere, friendly owners and is dog friendly. Be prepared to get into the forgotten art of conversation with whoever is in the bar, as mobile phones are put on silent. Lots of excellent real ales and local ciders to enjoy.

Read what the previous beer aficionados have said and believe it. This is a great place to meet and make friends. Always great beer and great conversation. Songs acoustically performed at times by Simon and others (mainly folkies) and of course the now almost legendary impromptu beer and cheese events. Why would you want to go anywhere else?

This is a brilliant little micropub tucked away on the corner of Charlotte Street. Inside you'll find no TVs, fruit machines, pool-tables or jukeboxes. What you do find is great, perfectly kept real ale, a friendly atmosphere and great conversation.

I simply can't recommend this place or it's staff highly enough!

Do you like real ale? Do you like real cider? Do you like a good natter with friendly people? If so, head to the Paper mill, it's a real gem of a pub.
They usualy have 3 ales and 3 ciders on and they are always cracking.

As my friend once described it, turn up, get drunk (please drink responsibly) and talk b*llocks with people you don't know! The perfect pub! :-)

Tucked away in a quite residential side street and only a short walk from the BR station is this absolute gem of a pub. Great choice of real ales served with big smiles. One of my absolute favourite pubs anywhere...
