Captain Colin is a gem, so knowledgeable, really enjoyed his commentary. The deal is that if you don't see any seals, you don't pay, but we saw plenty at Peggwell Bay. Got close enough to get some good photos. Dress warm as it gets cold on the river

The weather was blustery, but Captain Colin did his best to keep spirits up. We saw a whole host of seals, along with other wildlife along the way. Captain Colin is Fascinating! He knows so much about the local area. Definitely on our list for next year (here's hoping the weather is nicer).

Captain Colin makes a splendid host aboard the Heron, with a great commentary. He is very knowledgeable about the local history of the Stour and the Medway. We took the two hour trip to see the seals, which takes you through both open country and industrial landscapes into the estuary. Plenty of rare birds to look at along the way.... More

Due to the tides, this was a late afternoon trip. We saw several seals both in and out of the water and close enough to get some raally good pictures with a good compact camera. Really enjoyed by all of us. Would fully reccomend but call to confirm times before you visit.

What a great trip. Two hours out to Pegwell Bay and back. Saw loads and loads of seals close up, some swimming and some on land. Lovely boat trip. If you don't see any seals you do not have to pay for the trip! Very informative with regard to local river history and nearby places of interest. Boat very comfortable.... More

Never really knew what to expect from this trip. The weather wasn't so great and our young children weren't so happy at first to be out on a boat in the rain... but, it was a huge success !!! Our captain enlightened us with all sorts on information about the Port of Sandwich while on our way out to the... More

Took the riverbus today and was really surprised at how good it was. We timed the tides for a morning trip and was ready to go at spot on ten. The captain was a really good host with interesting narrative all the way. The little ex life boat was comfy and smooth with a small roof canopy giving shelter from... More

An enjoyable 2 hour trip cruising down the river. No hassle or rush a reminder of days gone by. Wonderful wildlife on the way and Captain Colin was very knowledgeable about the history of the river and the names of the birds. The seals were really cute and where respected and not harried by us. The cost was £24 per... More

I can highly recommend the trip to see the seals. Captain Colin was extremely knowledgeable and amusing and could certainly handle his boat! We saw avocets with young, greenshank, common sandpiper, shelduck with young, sandwich and common terns and of course the seals, both grey and common. We will definitely be back in the future
