Plenty of information in the museum and an audio guide makes this a very interesting place to visit. It takes about an hour to see it all. Plenty of parking. English Heritage members get free entrance.

Lots of space for taking young children. Certain times of the year English Heritage stage Battle re-enactments. The characters talk to the children/adults about what their conditions were, and what they did to live.

This site is vast and at first glance doesn’t look very inspiring. However, take an audio guide and you’ll feel very differently. It was the Roman gateway to Britain and hard to believe it was once a port. As you walk around, it’s obvious the...More

Have good pair of walking shoes for this visit. Wanted to visit this site for some time and was not disappointed. Use the toilets at the car park as they are the only ones on site. An audio guide (from the shop which is free)...More
