    Dreamland 💃💃
The venue itself was well worth the 8 hour round trip to see Queens of the Stone Age! as a gig venue what more could you ask for if you can go on fairground rides beforehand? Friendly staff, never got stuck in a queue for food or drinks. Will definitely travel down again for gigs in the future 💃

    A great evening
I went to see a concert at dreamland and from the reviews I was not looking forward to it . But I can honestly say I was more than pleasantly surprised everywhere was really clean ,all staff I had any contact with were friendly and helpful , I was able to get right at the front of the stage to watch the concert and no queues at the bars . I had the best time , thank you dreamland

VIP tickets at Dreamland - complete rip iff
Purchased VIP tickets for Will Young at Dreamland. Very disappointed with view - furthest section away from the stage and no seating left when we got there. It does state unreserved seating when purchasing it to me this suggests you are not allocated a seat. We ended up going back to the main section. Have requested a refund for difference in price of ticket but have so far new fobbed off. More people need to make a noise about this - complete rip off.

As good as it was many years ago.
Returned to Dreamland after probably 40 years. Dreamland was the highlight of many summer holidays as a child and it brought a smile to my face upon my return. It's clean, well maintained and there were no queues for the rides. Staff were helpful and pleasant. I'll have to return again.

    From The Jam and Buzzcocks
A visit to Dreamland (Upstairs area - Hall By The Sea?) to see (Apr23) From The Jam and Buzzcocks (Rescheduled from a previous year). This is a great venue and a nice size to see performers up and close. A very enjoyable evening and great to see From The Jam and Buzzcocks - both of which were in top form. Staff / security team were all friendly and polite. We have been here a few times over the years and never had a bad experience to date. We look forward to returning again in the near future. Venues include a downstairs ball room area and upstairs (Hall by the Sea) hall. We were upstairs during this visit. Bag checks were carried out prior to entry, which is always reassuring to see at any concert venue. We were on time / a few minutes early and had no issues with the queuing system. A great venue.

    Dreamland is dreamy. Its brilliant.
We came on Friday to see Human League and Marc Almond at one of their outside concerts. Dreamland is an ideal venue for concerts. The stage is great, the grass hills to the back are great for all views. We were very lucky to be no more than 6 rows from the front. The queing system works well, the security friendly and Dreamlands own staff proffessional. Having the funfair as a backdrop makes the night even more magical. Plenty of food and drink places as well. BTW, the concert as expected was brilliant. Well done Dreamland for getting such a great act here.

    Enjoyable place
Nice place to spend time while in Margate. Not that many rides anymore but there are arcades, roller disco and lots of open space. In the middle films show all day on the big screen with deckchairs to sit on and food stalls around the edge.

    Disappointed
We came to see The amazing Sir Tom Jones last night who was brilliant as usual. Was disappointed that we couldn’t bring fold up chairs to the venue, just seems they are cramming as many people in to the venue as they can which made it impossible to see anything as everyone was standing, felt like sardines. You can’t take your own picnic in so we did manage to get booked in a lovely restaurant before we went in. Found the drink’s expensive for the amount you got and each time we went up to buy the same round of drinks the prices were totally different every time 🤔 ranging from between £8-10 difference each time.

    Excellent family day out.
Very good family day out. 2 parents and 5 year old. Clean, well maintained, very good customer service. £40 for 20 tokens, 1 ride per person per token made for a reasonably priced day out. No queues. Combined with time on the beach and fish and chips makes for a great family day out. Only 5 mins from Margate station.

    Pride Dreamland
Just came home from margate pride, amazing performers and great crowd of people. Such an incredible night. A big shout out to the amazing staff on one of the bars who actually interacted with the customers and were dancing and singing while working, you all really got into the vibe of the event and you gave excellent service while doing so. So good to see everyone enjoying themselves. So thank you all for an amazing evening and thanks to Paul, Jo, Alice and Tracey for making it all that bit more special. Seriously if you go to an event seek these people out they are truly amazing and make such a great team

We decided to book tickets to see Simply Red supported by the Brand New Heavies. We purchased VIP tickets for the VIP area which promised great views of the stage and exclusive toilets and food and drink cost £523.00

Firstly dont even think about booking the VIP experience its a rip off, your standing in the raised area right at the back, the ground just has stone shingle laid and there were no seats laid out even though people had moved some seating from other areas. The stone shingle is hard on your feet standing for 5 hours, worse still you cant even see the performers, there are no screens. The sound system is underpowered for the venue, the mix for both bands was abysmally bad, absolutely no definition to the sound with crowd chatter clearly audible above the PA, knowing how both bands sound the house PA managed to make both bands sound bad not an easy feat given the musical talent on stage and it wasnt a Engineer issue but tight ass promoter cutting costs for profit.

Expensive drinks and food on sale and toilets leaking sewage. All in all a really bad experience, sub standard venue which has the potential to be far better. Our first and last visit to this venue and if you love live music and wish to actually listen I would give this place a miss and book elsewhere, at £523.00 for 4 VIP experience tickets Dreamland are taking the proverbial

Review for Simply Red Concert:

DO NOT, book VIP it’s an absolute con, we paid £125 each for the simply red concert and won’t be returning, upon arrival we were poorly guided up to the “VIP” area, which basically consists of a gravel footpath slightly higher up than the standard priced tickets.

There is no cash bar, there is no security around there, people without wristbands walking around, you cannot get a seat because there are only for disabled people, so it’s 90% standing, from which the view it appalling, the VIP platform doesn’t even look onto the stage, the speakers are all at the front so can’t hear barely anything at the back, at around 9pm the complaints were so much that security were put the steps to the “VIP” area which was a laughing stock.

Toilets were blocked so their estates team were lifting manholes in front of us.

The whole night was a shambles and so poorly managed. I would never pay the extra for VIP again, better off paying the standard ticket and standing down there
Bottom where you are next to the food and drink stalls closer to the music.

Such a shame because the place has so much potential, but needs a desperate change.

The VIP tickets promised no queues for toilets
Great views of the stage
Access to food and VIP bar.

1. The toilets were blocked
2. The viewing platform primarily faces the audience rather than the stage and it is at the back of the venue so even if you do get a spot with a view the stage is so far away you can't see the performers
3. The sound system did not reach the VIP area at the back so you couldn't actually hear the music (we went down and joined the crowd at the front which was better, but not what we had paid VIP prices for)
4. There were big queues for the VIP bar and there were NO food concessions in the VIP area as had been promised
5. We were encouraged to come to the venue for 6pm although the support act didn't even appear until 8. This felt like we had been trapped in Dreamland to buy their food and drink for two hours before the show even started
6. I was told I could not take my water bottle into the venue but would have to buy their plastic bottled water (hottest August weekend). Everything was in plastic cups and there were no recycling bins which is diabolical in this age of waste

Absolute rip off for theme park. Have been going here over 30 yrs, will not return. Spent over £100 in an hour, no wristbands, Ticket to ride only , limited rides, all £3 or £4 a go. This is not a visiting fairground where you are prepared to be fleeced and only spend limited time. it is something locals have used for years and are now taking their own children to.
It is a good music venue, so maybe they should just do that. My kids were excited to be there so I bit the bullet and let them ride but will not return.
Greed in this case, from the perspective of the rides, the music venue does well and is well run, and a great idea, and I’m sure makes a great revenue.
We will lose the theme park aspect of this place if something isn’t done to make it something to be used regularly and affordably, such a shame, so many locals have great memories of this place and it has a great future as a music venue, but the theme parks future is dim if it continues to be run this way.

What an absolute waste of time!
Really disappointed with the lack of rides there were open. Everything is extremely over priced (including the food) Dreamland should not be charging what they are charging with very little on offer and many of the rides closed. understandably It was December but at least be more open on your website that there are only a couple of rides operating.

Is it any wonder the place is in financial trouble?? Why on earth they let the CEO return after taking it under a few years back just sums up the disastrous place. If you’re thinking of visiting... don’t waste your money.

It’s going down hill fast like a first drop on a rollercoaster. It’s only been open 5 days May 29th 2022 . For a park that has had a whole year to get ready post covid it’s in a bad way . They have a hand full of rides brought in by showmen which are all working fine . But it’s clear to see the rides the park owns are not in fit state to operate yet and not pass the verification they require to take guess. Plus no signs at any pay both or entree points rides closed today .After a family member purchase tickets to take a child on the family steel coaster . The place is selling itself as a music venue more than a family park . The real salt in the eye is that you have to purchase a different ride ticket for the main attraction scenic railway. I would say save the money and buy extra ice cream on the prom.

We’ve been before and had a good time, we went again yesterday hoping to give a daughter we rarely see a great day out with her dad. Parking £9, well thats ok for a full day out. The gates into Dreamland from the car park were closed, well that was ok we thought, probably covid management. Entrance to the park, no wristbands available just ticketed rides at £1 a ticket. No one said, the park is closing at 2:30pm today, no one said and all the big rides are closed. So in we went with £20 each of £1 tickets to find this all out for ourselves. Our daughter is 14, so the baby/toddler rides weren’t suitable, so we were left with bumper cars, the mixer, the waltzer or the carousel. Her favourite, the bumper cars FOUR tickets each person, so we spent the equivalent of £8 for three minutes, thats really not ok.

I understand venues have to make money back after a bad year but really, they need to treat customers better than that. There should have been a very large accessible list of rides open and number of tickets needed per person per ride available before buying tickets along with limited hours notice, again in the same large print as the signs in the seafront showing ‘rides open’. We were left feeling ripped off and very disappointed, customers that didn’t really matter.

Accessibility is a bit of a joke at this venue, I have to list the issues as there are so many.

1. Guidance was non-existent; the only information we got was to wave our wristband at security to go upstairs.
2. There are two entrances, one set of stairs next to the entrance, and another steep ramp (which had multiple unattended barriers) at the other end of the park of which you have to wade through crowds to access. Not great for wheelchair users and the less abled.
3. As instructions were minimal, you make your way to the platform thinking it is the accessible area, but it is not; this is the VIP area. A common complaint on the day was the 'grabby' security member who has a book on what each wristband entitles you to. Firstly, this should be discussed upon arrival; secondly, disabled people should not be manhandled because of lack of clarification/misinformation from the staff.
4. As the wristband does not entitle you to use the bar on the platform, you have to go all the way downstairs to queue at the main bars and food areas. How is this accessible? This makes things far more difficult for disabled people and their carer.
5. It was the strangest thing, they usher you into an 'accessible area' which is condoned off by barriers that are left unattended; so you can't get in or out if you use a wheelchair or are less abled. Again, how is this accessible? It made absolutely no sense at all.

Awful Venue , Vip huts are a scam to make money !! No view at all and they let anyone in to this area so the payment of £120 per ticket is a rip off ,platform Guests get exactly the same access.

Toilet was blocked for most of the event , the food area had a few cakes and nothing substantial.

The hut looked like a shed from B and Q and had no exclusivity .

I wasn’t aloud a chair for my mum because she wasn’t disabled . Security had no clue what areas were for who and had to have a map to help them after everyone complained .

When I wrote to dreamland the response was disgusting.

Will not be going back .

I attended dreamland on the 22nd of June to see Queens of the Stone Age. Band were heavily delayed coming on due to sound issues and a team of engineers running on and off the stage. Because of this the band were forced by the venue to play a reduced set and then for their last song dreamland cut the sound completely. This is totally unacceptable as I had to conduct a 5 hour round trip to see this performance not to mention the cost of the ticket and travel just to see them perform for an hour and 20 minutes
