Clearly, I do not understand exactly what art is, and so I admit that I struggled with some of the exhibits in the Turner. I enjoyed the Yinka Shonibare works, but got a bit lost in Seeing Round Corners and Platform 2016. I guess that art is, like beauty, in the eye of the beholder. However, I do sometimes wonder... Let's start with the very positive. The cafe and food and drinks were excellent couldn't be faulted. Also the staff we very lovely with us and our little four year old. We did however think the exhibitions lacked substance and there was in fact very little gallery to see. The building was gorgeous but lacked any substantial art - lots... More

Enjoyed the "seeing round corners" exhibition. Also the British books and balance of power installation. May get down to the large JMW Turner exhibition in October. Its a place to visit frequently to see their new exhibitions, and its free.

Entry is free but the gallery would like a donation of £5. There is a mix of traditional and modern art with some very interesting pieces by well known and new artists. It is well worth a visit and is only a short walk from the seafront and harbour.

Called in to see the latest exhibition it was worth going, as usual for the Turner some things were a bit beyond my comprehension especially the mechanical goat on a train track, but I'm glad I saw it. This latest exhibition is called seeing round corners and there were plenty of corners to see round. Lovely exhibition space.

Located in a wonderful new building this is at the opposite end to Dreamland and is located on the seafront. It is a sparkly new home to a real mix of modern art. It is free to enter but donations are encouraged. There is a collection of Turner's work coming to this gallery which will be amazing.
