Absolutely love this place. The most welcoming and friendly hotel ever. The staff were fantastic, the food was fantastic, the rooms all creaky and 'authentic' this is the sort of hotel you experience rather than just stay in. Have never felt so relaxed, so quickly...More

A curious time warp happens when you step into the Walpole's antiquated lift, go up and enter the 'museum'. Its actually situated in the hotel upper floor corridors, decommissioned bathrooms and closets. A eerie experience to peer into a small room and find it full of...More

We stayed for one night, unfortunately. I would like to have stayed longer. The rooms are very comfortable and we had a balcony. Very nice buffet breakfast. The service was great, even though they were very busy. There are some great museum pieces. The lift...More

This was another lovely surprise in Margate. The social artefacts on display were well worth seeing and after viewing them we treated ourselves to a cream tea on the verandah-excellent.
