Love this beach because its family orientated...has a nice, friendly relaxed atmosphere. No arcades in the background.Just a cafe serving food etc and that's it. Bring your wind breakers and food. Park up the top but early. Toilets on site and a lovely beach inspector. A...More

We've been coming to Margate since I was a child and this is the first time I have stepped into Westbrook beach, it's a lovely stretch of golden sand, much quieter than its busy neigbour and better for it, ideal for a winter walk, blue...More

I've been going here since I was a kid and I'm 59 now. Love that it hasn't changed that much. Golden sand, blue sea and beach huts what more can you ask . Shame that the cafe is the only thing that's changed for the...More

Clean and sandy, nice and quiet with no arcades, funfairs or noise, and free parking up on the street. We've been visiting for years. Great for a family beach day.

We decided to head to the coast in this lovely weather and stumbled across Westbrook Bay, and so pleased we did. I was so annoyed with myself that I didn’t take my swimming shorts as the sea was so blue and looked very clean. Compared...More

Probably the best beach in the area, it's suitable for families, dog walkers, couples etc. Calm atmosphere and much less busy than the main Sands and still has toilets and a cafe easily accessible.

Can't understand the websites and reviews that state dogs are not permitted on Westbrook Beach at all between 10am and 6pm or that the ban extends across the beach towards Margate. At present dog walkers not only have the right to exercise their dogs on...More

It is possible to hire a wheelchair which is designed to move on the sand by booking at the bay inspector's office in Westbrook Bay or on Margate Main Sands. I don't think there is an actual charge but you have to make sure... More

the high street can be a bit daunting but there are lots of very nice areas in margate. tell her to take the plunge she wont regret it and if she is renting she can move around till she finds somewhere that suits her.
